Our Services

Precision cutting. Hand finishing.

Once your kitchen has been templated, the physical templates return to our workshop. From CNC machinery to the traditional hand-polish — this is where the heavy lifting happens.

In2stone stonemason operating CNC machinery in our fabrication workshop

Machines do the heavy lifting. We do the rest.

We run a modern fabrication facility capable of cutting, shaping, and profiling stone to exacting tolerances. But a machine only gets you 90% of the way there.

The final 10% — the perfect edge polish, the seamless joint preparation, the way the light catches the curve of an ogee edge — comes down to the experienced hands of our fabrication team. We don't outsource. We build it all right here in our own workshop.

Everything is fabricated 100% in-house at our own workshop. From final template to finished worktop, expect around 7 to 10 working days. We don't outsource a single cut.

Installation Service Area — We supply, fabricate, and install worktops across Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey, Dorset, and Berkshire. From templating through to fitting, the same team handles everything. Get in touch to confirm we cover your area.

Supply Only — UK Wide — If you're outside our installation area, we can still help. We offer a supply and fabrication service available anywhere in the UK. Provide your own template with exact measurements and we'll cut and finish your stone to specification. Collect from our workshop or we can arrange delivery. Learn more.

From raw slab to finished worktop.

01

Slab Inspection

Before any cutting begins, the team inspect your selected slab for any natural flaws or transit damage. Only perfect stone makes it onto the machine.

02

Vein Matching

For strongly veined materials (like marble-effect quartz), we lay out your custom handmade templates on the slab to ensure the pattern flows as naturally as possible across the joints.

03

CNC Cutting

Computer-controlled diamond blades cut the complex shapes, curves, and sink holes with millimetre precision according to the physical templates we took from your home.

04

Edge Profiling

Your chosen edge detail — whether a simple pencil edge or a classic ogee — is machined into the stone using specialist router bits.

05

Hand Finishing

The final polish is never left to a machine. It's done by eye and by hand, bringing out the stone's true depth and ensuring perfectly smooth edges.

Inside our workshop.

Every worktop is fabricated in-house by our own team. Here's what that actually looks like.

Edge Profiles

The edge profile you choose completely changes the feel of the kitchen. Our CNC capabilities allow us to offer a full range of profiles, all included in your standard quote.

Pencil edge profile cross-section

Pencil

A subtle, slightly softened edge. Clean, modern, and the most popular choice for contemporary minimalist kitchens.

Bullnose edge profile cross-section

Bullnose

A fully rounded half-circle edge. Gives a softer, traditional feel and is very durable against chipping.

Shark Nose edge profile cross-section

Shark Nose

An angular, bevelled profile that tapers to a thinner edge. Sharp, modern, and architectural.

Chamfer edge profile cross-section

Chamfer

A flat 45-degree cut along the top edge. Precise and geometric — particularly striking on darker stones.

Ogee edge profile cross-section

Ogee

An ornate, classic S-curve. Adds immediate luxury to traditional shaker kitchens — one of our specialities.

Half Bullnose edge profile cross-section

Half Bullnose

A generously rounded top edge with a flat bottom. Softer than pencil round, versatile and family-friendly.

Frequently Asked

Fabrication Questions

Do you fabricate the stone yourselves?
Yes, absolutely. We have our own fully equipped fabrication workshop. We do not outsource any cutting or polishing. This means we have total control over the quality, the timeline, and the final finish of your worktops.
Can you match the veins across the joints?
Yes. Vein matching is a crucial part of our fabrication process. While it's impossible to make a joint completely invisible on heavily veined stone, we carefully plan the cuts to ensure the pattern flows as continuously and naturally as the slab allows.
What machinery do you use?
We use state-of-the-art CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery for the heavy cutting and shaping. This guarantees millimetre accuracy. However, we believe the final finishing and polishing must be done by hand by an experienced stonemason to achieve a truly premium result.
Can I see my stone being cut?
Our workshop is a busy, industrial environment, so for safety reasons we don't normally have customers on the fabrication floor during cutting. However, you can view your slabs in our yard before we begin, especially if you want to agree on vein positioning.
How long does fabrication take?
Typically, fabrication takes between 7 to 10 days from the date of templating. Once templating is complete, we bring the physical forms back to the workshop and begin the precision cutting process.
