Nari Black

Nari Black granite is quarried from the Brits district of South Africa's Northwest Province — a region that sits on the Bushveld Igneous Complex, one of the largest layered igneous intrusions on Earth. The slab presents a deep charcoal-to-black base with dense, uniformly distributed speckling in light grey, off-white, and subtle mid-grey, creating a consistent salt-and-pepper texture across the entire surface. There is no veining, no directional movement — just a steady, reliable granular pattern that reads as dark from a distance and reveals its mineral complexity close up.

The geological pedigree is significant. The Bushveld Complex formed around 2 billion years ago, and the mafic to ultramafic rocks produced there are known worldwide for their density, hardness, and consistency. Nari Black inherits these qualities — it delivers Mohs 6–7 hardness, very low porosity, and the kind of structural integrity that comes from immensely slow cooling deep within ancient continental crust. The polished finish brings out a subtle sheen without excessive reflectivity, giving the surface a refined but not glossy character.
