Pink Porrino

Pink Porriño granite takes its name directly from its hometown — the municipality of Porriño in Pontevedra province, Galicia, northwestern Spain. This is one of the world's most recognised pink granites, quarried from a region that has supplied stone to construction and architectural projects across Europe for centuries. The slab presents a light warm peach-pink base with a very dense, busy granular pattern of irregularly shaped flecks in black, dark charcoal grey, and mid-tone warm grey. There is no veining or directional movement — just a consistently uniform speckling that gives the stone its characteristic speckled appearance.

Pink Porriño is a true granite in every sense — the pink colouration comes from a high concentration of potassium-rich orthoclase feldspar, one of granite's primary minerals. When this feldspar dominates the mineral mix, it colours the entire stone in warm pink tones. The interspersed quartz grains, biotite mica, and hornblende create the black and grey speckling. This is a stone with centuries of proven performance in demanding applications — from building facades to bridge cladding to kitchen worktops — carrying Mohs 6–7 hardness, excellent heat resistance, and the dense crystalline structure characteristic of Galician granites.
