Veined Natural Polished

South Indian golden granite with bold sweeping brown-grey veining across a warm sandy-beige polished surface.

Prado Gold granite comes from Southern India — a region whose Precambrian geological formations produce some of the most warm-toned, richly veined granites available to the international market. The slab presents a dominant warm golden-beige base that ranges subtly to a lighter sandy brown in areas. Bold sweeping veins in rich warm brown-grey create dynamic random movement across the surface, intermingled with areas of darker charcoal grey and lighter softer grey-brown. The veins vary from medium to broad, and the highly polished finish is distinctly reflective, enhancing the depth of colour and the organic flow of the veining.

Prado Gold sits in the rich, warm-toned category of Indian granites — bolder than the subtle speckled creams, but warmer and more accessible than the dramatic exotics. The sweeping vein pattern gives it genuine visual movement that prevents monotony across long worktop runs, while the golden base brings a warmth that cool greys and whites cannot provide. Geologically, it performs as a true granite: high quartz content, Mohs 6–7 hardness, excellent heat resistance, and the kind of dense crystalline structure that keeps porosity low and stain resistance high under annual sealing.

In2Stone recommends Prado Gold for kitchens where warmth and visual richness are the design priority. It pairs beautifully with cream, warm white, and honey-toned timber cabinetry, and works particularly well with hardware in brushed gold, satin brass, or oil-rubbed bronze. The bold veining ensures the worktop has presence and personality — this is a stone that adds character to a kitchen rather than simply filling a functional role.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Prado Gold

What colour is Prado Gold granite?
The base is a warm golden-beige — not a bright or metallic gold, but a rich, sandy warmth. The veining runs in brown-grey, charcoal, and softer grey-brown tones, creating an earthy palette that feels grounded and natural. The highly polished finish adds depth and a reflective quality that enhances the warmth.
How does Prado Gold compare to New Venetian Gold?
Both are warm-toned Indian granites, but they differ in pattern character. Prado Gold has bolder, broader sweeping veins with more defined movement, while New Venetian Gold tends to show a denser, more uniformly speckled pattern. Prado Gold is the choice if you want more dramatic vein movement; New Venetian Gold if you prefer a busier, more even texture.
Is Prado Gold granite suitable for a traditional kitchen?
Ideal for traditional kitchens. The warm golden palette and organic veining complement classic design elements — raised-panel cabinetry, crown moulding, ceramic tile floors, and traditional hardware. It also works well in transitional schemes that blend traditional architecture with contemporary finishes.
Does the veining vary between slabs?
Yes — the direction, intensity, and distribution of the brown-grey veining will differ from slab to slab. Some may show bolder, more dramatic sweeps; others may have a more distributed, moderate pattern. Personal slab selection ensures you get the specific balance of veining and base colour that suits your kitchen design.
What daily care does Prado Gold require?
Standard granite maintenance — daily cleaning with warm water and pH-neutral soap, annual sealing with a quality impregnating sealer, and prompt blotting of dark liquid spills. The warm golden colour shows stains slightly more visibly than dark granites, so timely attention to coffee, wine, and sauce spills is sensible good practice.
★★★★★
"We decided to get bespoke granite work tops for our new kitchen and have to say that we are over the moon with them. From the outset, Ian was very professional when selecting the stone, he listened to what we wanted, went through all of the possibilities that we could have for our worktops and went through the process in detail once we had made a decision. The templateing and fitting was carried out by an incredibly professional and helpful team run by Kev, who knew exactly what they were doing and just got on and made my kitchen look amazing. I would highly recommend In2stone for a helpful, knowledgeable and professional service from start to finish."
