Style:

Speckled Natural Polished

Sardinian Italian granite from Tempio Pausania with warm pink-beige speckling on a classic busy granular base.

Rose Sarde granite is quarried from the Tempio Pausania area near Monte Limbara in Sardinia's Gallura region — one of Italy's most historically important granite-producing districts. The slab presents a dense granular pattern of interlocking mineral grains, blending off-white, light warm beige, and mid-grey tones. Fine to medium-sized speckles in deep charcoal, black, medium grey, off-white, and warm brown-grey are distributed randomly across the surface without any veining or directional movement. The polished finish brings out a smooth sheen that enhances the busy yet understated natural stone character.

Rose Sarde sits within the Sardinian granite family alongside Rosa Beta and Rosa Limbara, but brings its own specific colour balance. The warm beige undertones and the particular mix of charcoal and brown-grey speckling give it a slightly warmer, more earthy quality. Tempio Pausania has been quarrying granite for centuries — the town's streets and buildings are constructed from local stone — and Rose Sarde carries that deep heritage. The Palaeozoic formations of Monte Limbara produce granite of exceptional density and uniformity, translating directly to performance: Mohs 6–7 hardness, very low porosity, excellent heat resistance, and the structural soundness that comes from immensely ancient geological origins.

In2Stone recommends Rose Sarde for clients who appreciate Italian craftsmanship and provenance in their materials. The warm, neutral speckling integrates easily into a wide range of kitchen designs — traditional, transitional, and contemporary. It pairs naturally with cream and warm white cabinetry, complements timber finishes, and works alongside hardware in brushed nickel, satin brass, or antique bronze.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Rose Sarde

Where is Tempio Pausania?
Tempio Pausania is a town in the Gallura region of northeastern Sardinia, Italy, situated near the base of Monte Limbara. It has been a centre of granite quarrying for centuries — the town itself is built from local granite — and remains one of Sardinia's most important stone-producing areas.
How does Rose Sarde compare to Rosa Beta and Rosa Limbara?
All three are Sardinian granites from the same geological region, but each has a distinct colour balance. Rosa Beta has a brighter white base with pink undertones; Rosa Limbara leans warmer and more taupe; Rose Sarde sits between them with a balanced warm beige-grey character. The choice depends on the specific warmth and colour nuance your kitchen requires.
Is Rose Sarde a busy or calm granite?
Busy in texture but understated in impact. The dense speckling creates a richly detailed surface that reveals complexity close up, but from normal viewing distance it reads as a warm, uniform neutral. It does not compete with other design elements — it provides a grounded, natural backdrop.
What kitchen styles suit Rose Sarde?
Rose Sarde's warm neutral palette makes it versatile across styles — traditional Italian-inspired kitchens, classic Shaker designs, rustic farmhouse schemes, and warm contemporary layouts. It works particularly well alongside natural materials like timber, linen, and terracotta, reinforcing a sense of authentic, grounded design.
Does Sardinian granite need special care?
No — standard granite maintenance applies. Annual sealing with a quality impregnating sealer and daily cleaning with warm water and pH-neutral soap. Sardinian granites are known for their exceptional density and very low porosity, so they respond particularly well to sealing and maintain excellent stain resistance.
★★★★★
"We decided to get bespoke granite work tops for our new kitchen and have to say that we are over the moon with them. From the outset, Ian was very professional when selecting the stone, he listened to what we wanted, went through all of the possibilities that we could have for our worktops and went through the process in detail once we had made a decision. The templateing and fitting was carried out by an incredibly professional and helpful team run by Kev, who knew exactly what they were doing and just got on and made my kitchen look amazing. I would highly recommend In2stone for a helpful, knowledgeable and professional service from start to finish."
