The Stone
See the natural beauty of Norwegian Rose up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this marble unique.
Norwegian Rose, a rare Scandinavian marble, presents a warm blush-pink base interwoven with bright white and subtle sage-green accents, creating a spectacularly brecciated and almost floral pattern.
Norwegian Rose is a spectacularly unique Scandinavian marble, immediately captivating with its rich, warm blush-pink base. Across its massive polished surface, you'll discover abundant formations of bright white and subtle sage-green accents, creating a beautifully complex, brecciated pattern. This striking combination of warm rose-pink contrasting with white produces an extraordinarily distinctive, almost floral quality, imbued with a wonderful sense of geological drama. It's truly a rare Norwegian gem, and its bold patterning makes it a uniquely memorable choice for the most distinctive luxury worktops.
Quarried in Fauske, Nordland, Norway, this exquisite stone began its geological journey millions of years ago, much like all marbles. Born from limestone or dolostone that underwent intense regional or contact metamorphism, the calcite crystals recrystallized into the dense, interlocking mosaic we see today. The characteristic warm blush-pink hue of Norwegian Rose is a natural masterpiece, primarily due to the presence of specific iron oxide minerals embedded within the calcite matrix during its formation, giving it a colour profile unlike any other.
At In2Stone, we see Norwegian Rose as a testament to nature's artistry, perfect for creating breathtaking kitchen worktops, luxurious bathroom vanities, or dramatic splashbacks. While this marble is inherently beautiful, it shares the properties of all marbles: a Mohs hardness of 3-5 means it's softer than granite and susceptible to scratching, and its calcite composition makes it sensitive to acids, which can cause etching. We always recommend regular sealing and gentle cleaning to maintain its stunning appearance, and for high-traffic kitchens, a honed finish can be a practical choice to subtly mask daily wear. Our passion lies in crafting your vision with care, ensuring every hand-templated cut and perfectly joined piece honours the unique character of this remarkable stone.
