Silk Georgette

Silk Georgette is a wonderfully linear marble, celebrated for its sumptuously elegant character. We find a delicate, pale ivory to light beige base, beautifully graced by exceptionally soft, fine, straight horizontal strata and bands of gentle grey and cream. This creates a beautifully uniform, gracefully structured layered veining, evoking a uniquely soothing, fabric-like or fine wood-grain effect across the surface. Its fabulously clean, highly sophisticated linear character makes it a beautifully calming choice for serene luxury worktops.

Quarried from the historic Burdur region of Turkey, Silk Georgette is a testament to nature's artistry as a non-foliated metamorphic rock. Formed from limestone or dolostone under immense heat and pressure, its primary mineral, calcite, recrystallises into a dense, interlocking mosaic. The delicate pale ivory to light beige base, alongside the gentle grey and cream tones, comes from subtle accessory minerals and impurities present during its geological formation, giving each slab its unique, soft coloration.
