The Stone

See the natural beauty of Basaltina Antracite up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this porcelain unique.

A deep charcoal-black porcelain with a raw, volcanic basalt texture — industrial, elemental, and powerfully understated.

Basaltina Antracite channels the raw character of volcanic basalt stone in its deep, near-black charcoal surface. The fine-grained texture carries subtle tonal variation that gives a naturally weathered quality without any veining or directional pattern. This is pure surface texture — industrial and elemental, with a tactile stone character that feels honest and grounded. An exceptional choice for contemporary kitchen worktops, commercial counters, or feature surfaces where dark, moody sophistication is the brief.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Basaltina Antracite

What is the Basaltina texture meant to replicate?
The Basaltina range replicates volcanic basalt stone — an ignite rock formed from cooled lava. The fine-grained, subtly textured surface recreates the honest, raw character of quarried basalt without any veining or directional pattern. It's an industrial, elemental aesthetic that feels connected to the earth's geology.
How dark is Basaltina Antracite compared to Ebano or Nero?
Basaltina Antracite is a very dark charcoal-grey rather than pure black. It has slightly more visible surface texture and subtle tonal variation than either Ebano (solid black with a hint of warmth) or Nero (absolute flat black). If you want dark but with natural stone character rather than solid uniformity, Antracite is the better choice.
Will Basaltina Antracite show scratches?
Porcelain is one of the hardest surface materials available — harder than granite — so scratching is extremely unlikely in normal kitchen use. Even if a very heavy object were dragged across the surface, the fine-grained texture of Basaltina Antracite is naturally forgiving, concealing minor surface marks far better than a high-gloss polished surface would.
What tap and sink finishes complement the dark volcanic character?
Brushed black or gunmetal taps create a tonal, cohesive look that enhances the industrial mood. Brushed brass or copper provides striking warm contrast against the dark base. For sinks, undermount designs in matt black composite or brushed stainless steel integrate cleanly without competing with the stone's textured character.
Is Basaltina Antracite suitable for commercial environments?
Absolutely — porcelain's hardness, stain resistance, and non-porous nature make it ideal for commercial kitchens, restaurants, bars, and retail counters. Basaltina Antracite's dark, industrial aesthetic suits contemporary commercial fit-outs, and the textured surface conceals everyday wear beautifully in high-traffic settings.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
