Concrete Effect Industrial Matte Finish

Mid-grey porcelain with soft, mottled concrete-effect movement — an industrial surface with quiet urban character.

Optimum Concrete Graphite faithfully recreates the patinated, trowelled aesthetic of raw concrete. Its mid-grey base carries a subtle warm undertone and is covered by diffuse, random patches of slightly lighter and darker grey that create a gentle, mottled movement across the surface. There are no veins, no speckling, no granular detail — just the soft, cloudy tonal shifts of poured and cured concrete. The matte, honed finish is essential to the design — it gives the surface a raw, tactile quality that a polished finish would undermine. Concrete Graphite is a dedicated choice for industrial, minimalist, and urban-contemporary kitchens where natural stone and marble aesthetics would feel out of place. As porcelain stoneware, it adds complete heat resistance and UV stability to the concrete look — advantages real concrete cannot match. Manufactured in extra-large 1840 × 3300mm slabs from 100% natural raw materials. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Concrete Graphite

What does Optimum Concrete Graphite look like?
Concrete Graphite has a mid-grey base with a subtle warm undertone, covered by soft, diffuse patches of slightly lighter and darker grey that create gentle mottled movement. There's no veining, speckling, or texture — just the cloudy tonal shifts of raw concrete. The matte, honed finish completes the industrial aesthetic.
How does porcelain compare to actual concrete worktops?
Real concrete worktops are porous, prone to staining, can crack over time, and require regular sealing. Optimum porcelain recreates the visual character while being completely non-porous, stain-proof, heat-proof, and maintenance-free. You get the industrial aesthetic without any of the practical downsides of real concrete.
Is Concrete Graphite suitable for an outdoor kitchen?
Absolutely. The UV-stable porcelain won't fade in sunlight, and the industrial concrete aesthetic suits outdoor entertaining spaces perfectly. It's frost-resistant and impervious to moisture, making it one of the most practical outdoor worktop options available.
What design elements pair with Concrete Graphite?
Matt black tapware, raw timber, steel framework, and exposed brick all complement the industrial character. For cabinetry, pale grey, charcoal, or timber-look fronts work well. The understated surface also pairs effectively with bold, colourful feature elements — allowing statement splashback tiles or coloured appliances to stand out.
Does the matte finish scratch easily?
Optimum porcelain is extremely hard and scratch-resistant regardless of finish. The matte surface is actually more forgiving than polished for everyday use, as minor surface wear is less visible. Use chopping boards for food preparation as standard practice, and the surface will maintain its appearance long-term.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
