Travertine Effect Natural Matte Finish Linear

Warm sandy beige porcelain with horizontal travertine banding — a classic cross-cut stone recreation with natural depth.

Optimum Travertino Classico is a faithful recreation of cross-cut travertine stone — one of the most enduring natural stone aesthetics in architectural design. Its warm, light sandy beige base is covered by a dense, horizontally oriented pattern of varying bands and lines in slightly darker warm beige and light tan. These horizontal striations range from fine thread-like streaks to broader, diffused stripes, creating the characteristic layered movement that makes travertine instantly recognisable. The matte, honed finish with its subtle granular texture gives Travertino Classico an authentic, tactile quality that convincingly recreates the feel of real travertine. Unlike natural travertine — which is porous, acid-sensitive, and requires constant maintenance — this porcelain version is completely stain-proof, heat-proof, and maintenance-free. Manufactured in extra-large 1840 × 3300mm slabs from 100% natural raw materials. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Travertino Classico

What does Optimum Travertino Classico look like?
Travertino Classico has a warm, light sandy beige base with dense horizontal banding in slightly darker warm beige and light tan tones. The bands range from fine thread-like streaks to broader, diffused stripes, creating the characteristic layered movement of natural cross-cut travertine. The matte finish has a subtle granular texture that feels authentically stone-like.
What is cross-cut travertine?
Natural travertine can be cut in two ways — 'cross-cut' reveals the horizontal banding and layered striations formed by mineral deposits over millennia. 'Vein-cut' reveals a different pattern with more flowing, organic movement. Travertino Classico recreates the cross-cut look, which is the more recognisable and classic of the two.
How does porcelain compare to natural travertine?
Natural travertine is porous with natural holes and pits that require filling. It needs regular sealing, is sensitive to acids, and can stain easily. Optimum porcelain recreates the look without any of these drawbacks — completely non-porous, acid-resistant, heat-proof, and maintenance-free. The aesthetic is authentic; the performance is vastly superior.
What design schemes suit Travertino Classico?
The warm travertine aesthetic is a classic in Mediterranean, Tuscan, transitional, and luxury traditional kitchens. It pairs beautifully with wrought iron, warm timber, terracotta, and natural stone flooring. Brushed gold or antique brass hardware complements the warm sandy tones. It also works well in spa-inspired bathrooms.
Does the horizontal banding direction matter for installation?
The horizontal orientation of the banding works best when it follows the length of the worktop run, creating visual continuity. In2Stone considers pattern direction during templating to ensure the banding flows naturally across the installation. For L-shaped or U-shaped kitchens, the layout is planned to maintain visual harmony at the corners.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
