The Stone

See the natural beauty of Belgian Chocolate up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Mid-grey quartz with dense, varied speckling — a busy terrazzo-style surface with a natural granular texture.

BQS Belgian Chocolate features a consistent mid-grey base with warm taupe undertones, densely packed with an even distribution of irregularly shaped granular particles. The inclusions range from very fine specks to small angular chips in opaque white, translucent light grey, darker charcoal grey, and subtle hints of pale blue-grey — creating a busy, terrazzo-like texture across the entire surface. The honed, low-sheen finish gives Belgian Chocolate a satin quality that feels tactile and natural, with the embedded particles creating visual depth that rewards closer inspection. This is a surface for kitchens that favour texture and character over clean lines and polished marble. It handles everyday use exceptionally well — the busy pattern disguises marks, and the non-porous quartz construction means spills never stain. Engineered from 93% natural quartz by Brachot. Available in jumbo 3200 × 1600mm slabs with 20mm or 30mm thicknesses. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Belgian Chocolate

What does BQS Belgian Chocolate look like?
Belgian Chocolate has a consistent mid-grey base with warm taupe undertones, densely packed with irregularly shaped granular particles. These inclusions range from fine specks to small angular chips in white, translucent grey, darker charcoal, and subtle pale blue-grey. The honed finish has a satin quality. Overall, it reads as a busy, richly textured terrazzo-style surface.
Is Belgian Chocolate actually brown?
Despite the name, it reads more as a warm mid-grey with taupe undertones than a chocolate brown. The multi-tonal particles add variety, but the dominant impression is grey rather than brown. If you're looking for a warmer brown tone, Belgian Moca is the closer match. The name reflects the rich, indulgent character rather than the precise colour.
What makes Belgian Chocolate different from standard speckled quartz?
The range of particle sizes and colours is wider than most speckled designs. Instead of uniform, evenly sized specks, Belgian Chocolate includes fine specks, angular chips, translucent elements, and subtle colour hints including pale blue-grey. This variation creates a more natural, terrazzo-like quality rather than the uniform pattern typical of simpler speckled surfaces.
Is Belgian Chocolate practical for busy kitchens?
Extremely practical. The busy, dense pattern is one of the most forgiving surfaces in the entire BQS range — crumbs, water marks, fingerprints, and general wear are barely visible against the multi-tonal texture. The honed finish resists showing smudges. Combined with the non-porous, stain-resistant quartz construction, it's built for hard daily use.
What design elements pair with Belgian Chocolate?
The textured, industrial-leaning character pairs well with concrete, raw timber, matt black ironmongery, and brushed steel appliances. In contemporary settings, pale grey or white cabinetry provides clean contrast. In industrial spaces, dark timber or charcoal units continue the moody, textural theme. Avoid busy tiles — the worktop already provides plenty of pattern.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
