Reflective Speckled Matte Finish

Deep charcoal-black quartz with sparse gold and silver reflective flecks — a dark, moody surface with quiet sparkle.

BQS Black Mirrorlux is the darkest surface in the Mirrorlux trio, featuring a deep charcoal base that verges on off-black. The surface has a consistently fine granular texture scattered with sparse, pin-sized flecks of reflective light gold and silver that catch the light with a faint, almost shimmering quality. There's no veining or directional pattern — the appeal is in the contrast between the deep, dark base and the subtle sparkle of the reflective particles. The honed, matte finish gives Black Mirrorlux an understated, solid character that avoids the high-gloss drama of polished black surfaces. This makes it more practical for daily use while maintaining a refined, luxurious feel. It's a natural choice for moody, contemporary kitchens and creates a striking island surface when paired with lighter perimeter worktops. Engineered from 93% natural quartz by Brachot, non-porous, and requiring no sealing. Available in jumbo 3200 × 1600mm slabs with 20mm or 30mm thicknesses. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Black Mirrorlux

What does BQS Black Mirrorlux look like?
Black Mirrorlux has a deep charcoal base verging on off-black, with a fine granular texture. Sparse, pin-sized flecks of reflective gold and silver are scattered randomly across the surface, creating a faint, subtle shimmer. The honed, matte finish keeps it understated rather than glossy. The overall effect is dark and moody with just enough sparkle to prevent it feeling flat.
How does Black Mirrorlux compare to Grey Mirrorlux?
Black Mirrorlux is significantly darker — its base is near-black compared to Grey Mirrorlux's charcoal grey. Black Mirrorlux also has gold and silver flecks rather than just white ones, and features a honed matte finish rather than polished. Grey Mirrorlux is more versatile; Black Mirrorlux is bolder and more dramatic.
Does the matte finish show marks?
The honed matte finish is more forgiving than high-gloss polished surfaces when it comes to fingerprints and water spots. However, all dark surfaces show dust and marks more readily than lighter ones. The granular texture and reflective flecks help disguise minor marks. Regular wiping with a damp cloth keeps it looking its best.
What lighting works best with Black Mirrorlux?
Directed downlighting — pendant lights or recessed spots — brings out the best in the reflective flecks, creating subtle points of light against the dark base. Under-cabinet LEDs along perimeter runs also work well. Avoid solely relying on diffused ambient lighting, which won't activate the reflective particles as effectively.
Is Black Mirrorlux suitable for a small kitchen?
A very dark worktop in a small kitchen can feel imposing if the rest of the scheme is also dark. To make it work, pair Black Mirrorlux with light cabinetry, pale walls, and good lighting to maintain an open feel. Used selectively — for example, on an island or breakfast bar only — it can add real drama without closing the space in.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
