The Stone

Style:

Natural Stone Effect Matte Finish Textured

Pale cream quartz with soft, mottled grey-beige movement — a honed surface with a natural weathered stone character.

BQS Glacier offers a beautifully understated natural stone aesthetic. Its very light, warm off-white to pale cream base is overlaid with moderate to dense cloud-like movement in blended soft grey and warm, muted beige-brown tones. The pattern drifts somewhat horizontally across the surface with broad, undefined edges that create a mottled, organic quality — more weathered limestone than polished marble. The honed, matte finish reinforces this natural character with a subtle fine granular texture that gives the surface a tactile quality. Glacier is a strong choice for kitchens and bathrooms where polished marble would feel too formal and a plain surface too simple — it occupies that middle ground of interesting without being busy. Engineered from 93% natural quartz by Brachot, non-porous, and requiring no sealing. Available in jumbo 3200 × 1600mm slabs with 20mm or 30mm thicknesses. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Glacier

What does BQS Glacier look like?
Glacier has a very light, warm off-white to pale cream base with moderate to dense cloud-like movement in blended soft grey and warm beige-brown tones. The pattern drifts softly across the surface with broad, undefined edges, creating a mottled, organic look. The honed finish gives it a natural, matte quality with a subtle granular texture.
Is Glacier a marble-effect or a stone-effect design?
It's closer to a natural stone effect than a classic marble. Where marble-effect designs typically feature defined veining, Glacier has broad, diffused, cloud-like movement that feels more like weathered limestone or natural sandstone. The matte, honed finish reinforces this raw, natural aesthetic.
What kitchen styles suit Glacier?
Glacier works well in transitional, farmhouse, coastal, and soft contemporary kitchens. Its warm, muted tones pair naturally with timber, wicker, linen, and natural materials. It's also a good choice for rustic kitchens where a polished marble worktop would feel out of place but a plain surface would be too simple.
Does the honed finish require special care?
No — care is the same as any BQS quartz surface. The honed finish is actually more practical than polished for everyday use, as it shows fewer fingerprints and water marks. Clean with warm soapy water and avoid harsh chemicals. The non-porous construction means spills don't absorb into the surface.
How does Glacier compare to Permafrost?
Both have mottled, non-veined patterns with honed finishes, but the mood differs. Permafrost is cooler and more industrial, with grey-brown patches and a concrete-like character. Glacier is warmer and more natural, with cream-beige tones and a weathered stone aesthetic. Permafrost suits urban kitchens; Glacier suits warmer, more organic spaces.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
