Concrete Effect Industrial Matte Finish Linear

Cool greige quartz with layered horizontal banding and rough finish — an industrial, stratified concrete surface.

Caesarstone Primordia from the Metropolitan collection delivers the most rugged, geological character in the concrete range. Its light, cool-leaning greige base carries a subtle but distinct pattern of broad, irregular horizontal bands in varied tones of soft warm beige, muted sand, and slightly darker cool grey patches. These layers create an organic, stratified movement — like sediment compressed over time. The rough finish with its pervasive fine granular texture is critical to the design — it gives Primordia a genuinely tactile, raw industrial quality. Caesarstone describes this as an 'oxidised industrial' aesthetic, and the layered, mottled character supports this. It's the most texturally complex surface in the Metropolitan collection. Engineered from up to 90% natural quartz minerals by Caesarstone with a lifetime residential warranty. Available in jumbo 3270 × 1640mm slabs with 20mm or 30mm thicknesses. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Primordia

What does Caesarstone Primordia look like?
Primordia has a light cool greige base with broad, irregular horizontal bands in soft beige, muted sand, and darker cool grey. The banding creates a layered, stratified movement. The rough finish has a pervasive granular texture across the entire surface. It reads as an oxidised industrial concrete with genuine geological complexity — rugged and atmospheric.
How does Primordia compare to Topus Concrete?
Both are Metropolitan rough-finish designs with horizontal banding, but they differ in tone and intensity. Topus Concrete is warmer with a light beige base and subtler banding. Primordia is cooler, more complex, and more industrial — the layered bands include grey patches alongside beige, creating a more varied, geological effect. Primordia is the bolder of the two.
What is Caesarstone's rough finish?
The rough finish is Caesarstone's most tactile option — a genuinely granular, raw surface that replicates the feel of rough-cast or oxidised concrete. It requires slightly more daily care than polished finishes — keep dry, wipe spills promptly, and clean with warm soapy water. The tactile quality makes it a standout choice for industrial and contemporary kitchens.
What design schemes suit Primordia?
Primordia is designed for industrial, loft-style, and raw contemporary kitchens. It pairs with exposed steel, raw timber, concrete flooring, matt black fixtures, and industrial lighting. The cooler greige tones also work in Scandinavian-industrial schemes. It's a surface that wants to be surrounded by honest, raw materials.
Is the rough finish practical for daily cooking?
Yes — the rough texture is granular but not abrasive. It cleans easily with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. The textured surface actually disguises marks, scratches, and daily wear better than smooth polished alternatives. Keep the surface dry between uses and wipe spills promptly for best results.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
