The Stone

See the natural beauty of Carrara up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

A classic white quartz with soft, diffused grey veining — faithful Carrara marble character with effortless maintenance.

Carrara captures the essence of Italian Carrara marble in a low-maintenance quartz surface. Soft grey veining drifts across a warm white base in gentle, cloud-like patches rather than sharp directional lines. The grey tones are muted and organic, creating a surface that feels natural and lived-in without the drama of bolder marble-effect designs. This is a versatile, crowd-pleasing stone that works equally well in traditional and contemporary kitchens. Its understated patterning pairs naturally with most cabinet colours and hardware finishes, making it a reliable choice when a subtle marble aesthetic is desired.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Carrara

How realistic does Cullifords Carrara look compared to genuine Italian Carrara marble?
The soft, diffused grey veining on a warm white base captures the essential Carrara character convincingly. The grey tones drift in gentle, cloud-like patches rather than sharp lines, closely mimicking the organic quality of natural Carrara. Under typical kitchen lighting, most people would not immediately distinguish it from real marble — but it performs far better against stains and etching.
Will Carrara quartz go yellow over time?
High-quality quartz surfaces like Carrara are UV-stabilised to resist yellowing under normal indoor lighting. However, prolonged direct sunlight exposure through a south-facing window may cause very gradual colour change over many years. If your worktop sits in direct sun for extended periods, consider UV-filtering window treatments as a precaution.
How does the veining in Carrara compare to Bianco Eclipsia?
They are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Carrara has soft, muted grey clouding that blends gently into the white base — subtle and understated. Bianco Eclipsia has thick, bold grey veins that sweep dramatically across the surface. Choose Carrara for a quiet, classic marble feel; choose Eclipsia for a statement piece with strong visual impact.
Is Carrara quartz suitable for a period-style kitchen?
Very much so. The warm white base and soft grey character complement traditional kitchen designs with Shaker-style cabinetry, panelled doors, and heritage fixtures beautifully. It provides the timeless marble aesthetic that suits period properties without the maintenance demands that natural marble would impose in a family kitchen.
What edge profiles work well with Carrara quartz?
A classic pencil-round or bullnose edge suits the soft, traditional character of this stone. For a more contemporary feel, a straight square edge with a slight eased top gives a clean, modern line. A full mitred edge can also work well, creating the illusion of a thick marble slab for a luxurious, substantial look.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
