The Stone

See the natural beauty of Calacatta up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

White Green Grey

Bright white quartz with delicate green-grey diagonal marble veining — a crisp, elegantly classic surface.

Nilestone Calacatta interprets the iconic Italian marble with a distinctive green-grey vein palette. Its crisp bright white base carries moderately dense diagonal veining varying from fine threads to medium strokes in a delicate green-grey hue. The polished finish reflects light across a smooth surface without speckling, flecking, or granular texture. The green-grey veining is what distinguishes this Calacatta from warmer interpretations — it creates a cooler, more refined atmosphere. The diagonal flow and varying vein thickness create natural marble movement. Engineered from 93% natural quartz with polymer resins. Non-porous, scratch resistant (Mohs 7), NSF and Greenguard certified. 15-year warranty. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Calacatta

What does Nilestone Calacatta look like?
Calacatta has a crisp bright white base with moderately dense diagonal veining in a delicate green-grey. The veining varies from fine threads to medium strokes. The polished finish is smooth and reflective without speckling. It's an elegantly classic marble-effect — the green-grey vein palette gives it a cooler, more refined character than warm Calacattas.
What is engineered quartz?
Engineered quartz combines 93% natural quartz mineral with 7% polymer resins and pigments. The quartz provides hardness (Mohs 7) and durability. The resins bind the material and create a non-porous surface. The result is marble-like aesthetics with consistent colour, no sealing required, and high stain resistance.
What is the difference between green-grey and standard grey veining?
Green-grey veining has a subtle cool green undertone that standard grey lacks. Under natural light the green cast becomes more apparent, creating a fresher, cooler atmosphere than warm grey or brown-grey alternatives. It pairs particularly well with contemporary kitchens using natural greenery and plant elements.
Does Nilestone quartz need sealing?
No — Nilestone quartz is non-porous with water absorption below 0.01%. No sealing is ever required. Liquids, oils, and acidic substances cannot penetrate the surface. This is a permanent property of the material, not a coating that wears off over time.
What cabinetry suits Calacatta?
The bright white base with cool green-grey veining suits white cabinetry for a clean, bright scheme. Natural timber adds warmth. Dark cabinetry creates bold contrast. The cool vein tones connect with chrome or brushed nickel hardware. Sage green or olive accessories echo the green-grey undertones beautifully.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
