The Stone

See the natural beauty of Calacatta Exotic up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

White Grey Charcoal Blue

Off-white quartz with bold sprawling charcoal marble veining — a dynamic, confidently dramatic surface.

Nilestone Calacatta Exotic amplifies the Calacatta aesthetic to its most dramatic expression. Its off-white to soft white base with subtle fine granular texture is intricately patterned with moderate to dense veining in medium to charcoal grey with occasional very subtle bluish undertones. The veins are predominantly random and sprawling, ranging from fine threads to bolder wider streaks traversing the surface with dynamic diagonal flow. The smooth polished finish reflects light gently. Where standard Calacatta is composed, Exotic is expansive — the sprawling veining covers more surface area with greater intensity, creating a surface that demands attention. Engineered from 93% natural quartz with polymer resins. Non-porous, scratch resistant (Mohs 7), NSF and Greenguard certified. 15-year warranty. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Calacatta Exotic

What does Nilestone Calacatta Exotic look like?
Calacatta Exotic has an off-white base with fine granular texture and moderate to dense random sprawling veining in medium to charcoal grey with subtle bluish undertones. Veins range from fine threads to bold streaks with dynamic diagonal flow. Polished and reflective. A confidently dramatic marble — bolder and more expansive than standard Calacatta.
What makes it 'Exotic'?
The 'Exotic' designation reflects the heightened drama — the veining is bolder, more sprawling, and covers more surface area than the standard Calacatta. The occasional bluish undertones within the charcoal grey veining add an unusual depth. It's a more expressive, less restrained interpretation of the Calacatta marble aesthetic.
What creates the bluish undertones?
Subtle blue-grey tones within certain veining areas add cool atmospheric depth. These undertones are most visible in natural daylight and shift the character from standard grey to something more complex. Under warm artificial lighting the blue recedes, making the surface appear warmer. This dynamic quality adds visual interest.
Is bold veining harder to match at joins?
Bold veining requires more careful slab planning at joins. In2Stone templates and plans slab layout before fabrication to ensure vein direction and intensity flow naturally across joints. The 3220×1620mm jumbo slab format minimises the number of joins needed for most kitchen layouts.
What cabinetry suits Calacatta Exotic?
White cabinetry lets the dramatic veining dominate — the worktop becomes the focal point. Dark charcoal cabinetry creates a moody, cohesive scheme. Natural timber adds warmth. The bold pattern means cabinetry should be kept simple — busy door profiles or mixed materials can create visual competition.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
