The Stone

See the natural beauty of Calacatta Oro up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

White Red Brown Rust Grey

Off-white quartz with bold rusty red-brown and warm grey layered veining — a dramatic, richly multi-tonal surface.

Nilestone Calacatta Oro — Italian for gold — delivers dramatic multi-tonal marble with unusual warmth. Its off-white base with fine granular texture and warm undertones carries a moderate to dense network of multi-directional veining. Prominent bold veins feature a striking combination of warm rusty red-brown and desaturated warm grey, often presenting a layered or swirled appearance. Finer thread-like veins in light to medium grey crisscross the background. The rusty red-brown veining is Calacatta Oro's defining feature — it brings a warmth and earthiness that grey-only marbles cannot match. The layered, swirled quality within the broader veins adds geological depth. Engineered from 93% natural quartz with polymer resins. Non-porous, scratch resistant (Mohs 7), NSF and Greenguard certified. 15-year warranty. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Calacatta Oro

What does Nilestone Calacatta Oro look like?
Calacatta Oro has an off-white base with fine granular texture. Bold veins in warm rusty red-brown and desaturated grey show layered, swirled formations. Finer grey threads crisscross the background. Polished finish. A dramatically multi-tonal marble — the rusty red-brown veining brings unusual warmth and geological complexity.
What does Oro mean?
Oro is Italian for 'gold' — referencing the warm, rich tones within the veining. While the veining reads more as rusty red-brown than metallic gold, the warm earthy palette carries that same sense of richness and value that the golden marble tradition represents.
What creates the layered appearance?
The broader veins show internal layering — multiple tones of rusty brown and warm grey swirled together rather than single flat colours. This layered quality references the geological process where mineral deposits form in successive waves, creating veins with internal complexity and depth.
Is the satin version different?
Calacatta Oro Satin has the same rusty red-brown and grey veining but with a matte satin finish instead of polished. The satin finish softens the reflections and gives a more contemporary, tactile feel. The vein colours may appear slightly more muted without the polished surface's light amplification.
What cabinetry suits Calacatta Oro?
The warm rusty red-brown tones pair beautifully with cream and warm white cabinetry. Natural timber adds earthy warmth. Dark cabinetry creates dramatic contrast. Copper or brushed bronze hardware echoes the rust tones. The bold character needs simpler cabinetry to avoid visual competition.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
