The Stone

See the natural beauty of Calacatta Viola up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

White Brown Chocolate Orange Terracotta

Off-white quartz with dense chocolate brown and terracotta brecciated veining — a bold, earthily dramatic surface.

Nilestone Calacatta Viola breaks from grey-veined convention with a richly warm brown palette. Its off-white base is intricately patterned with dense fractured random veining. The veins are primarily deep warm chocolate brown with prominent rusty orange-brown and terracotta undertones, varying from fine threads to bold clustered sections. The polished finish is smooth and reflective. Despite its 'Viola' name — Italian for violet — the vision analysis reveals warm chocolate browns and terracotta rather than purple tones. The brecciated pattern — where the white base appears as fragments cemented within the brown veining — creates a bold geological statement. Engineered from 93% natural quartz with polymer resins. Non-porous, scratch resistant (Mohs 7), NSF and Greenguard certified. 15-year warranty. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Calacatta Viola

What does Nilestone Calacatta Viola look like?
Calacatta Viola has an off-white base with dense fractured veining in deep warm chocolate brown with rusty orange-brown and terracotta undertones. The brecciated pattern varies from fine threads to bold clustered sections. Polished and reflective. An earthily dramatic marble — warm brown tones creating a fundamentally different marble atmosphere.
Is it actually purple?
The vision analysis reveals warm chocolate brown, rusty orange-brown, and terracotta tones rather than purple. The 'Viola' name may reference a subtle reddish undertone within certain lighting conditions, but the dominant palette is warm brown. View slab samples to assess the colour in your specific lighting environment.
What is a brecciated pattern?
Breccia is a geological term for rock composed of angular fragments cemented together. In Calacatta Viola, the white base appears as angular fragments within the brown veining network — like pieces of white marble set in warm brown mortar. This creates a more dramatic, geological pattern than flowing veins.
What cabinetry suits Viola?
Cream and warm white cabinetry creates cohesive warmth. Natural timber adds earthy depth. Dark cabinetry provides contrast while the warm worktop prevents coldness. Copper or brushed bronze hardware echoes the terracotta undertones. Avoid cool grey or chrome-heavy schemes that might clash with the warm brown palette.
How unusual is brown marble veining?
Brown-veined marble designs are less common than grey — most Calacattas use cool grey or blue-grey veining. Viola's chocolate and terracotta palette creates kitchens with genuine warmth and earthiness that grey marbles cannot achieve. For clients who find grey-veined white marble too cool, Viola provides an entirely different warm marble experience.

"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
