The Stone

See the natural beauty of Ural Grey up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

Dark Grey

A deep charcoal-grey quartz with fine, consistent speckling — strong, modern, and unmistakably industrial.

Ural Grey is a rich, deep charcoal surface with a fine-grained, uniform speckled texture that reads as sophisticated and unmistakably modern. Darker than mid-grey but a shade lighter than pure black, it occupies a strong, confident position on the grey spectrum — tiny lighter and darker flecks distributed evenly throughout provide subtle visual texture without disrupting the smooth, consistent appearance. The polished finish has a quiet, matte-like depth that avoids the high-gloss reflections of mirror-finish blacks. Part of the Radianz Classic collection and one of the brand's on-sale products through Cullifords, Ural Grey is manufactured by LOTTE Chemical from 93% natural quartz. The completely non-porous composition delivers Mohs 7 hardness, full stain resistance, and zero water absorption — all backed by a 15-year residential warranty. A strong, masculine choice for contemporary kitchens, commercial counters, and industrial-inspired spaces where dark surfaces define the design language.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Ural Grey

How dark is Ural Grey compared to Columbia Grey?
Ural Grey is significantly darker — it sits in the dark charcoal range, whereas Columbia Grey is a mid-grey. Ural Grey is closer to black than to mid-grey on the spectrum, making it a much bolder, more dramatic choice. Choose Columbia Grey for a versatile neutral grey; choose Ural Grey when you want a dark, statement surface without going full black.
Does Ural Grey have a matte or glossy finish?
Ural Grey has a polished finish, but the dark charcoal colour and fine-grained texture give it a naturally subdued, quiet depth that avoids the high-gloss mirror effect seen on pure black surfaces. The result is a refined, matt-like sophistication — it reflects light softly rather than sharply, which many homeowners prefer.
Will Ural Grey make a small kitchen feel smaller?
Dark surfaces can visually compress a space, so in small kitchens Ural Grey works best in moderation — for example, as an island top or a single run of worktop, combined with lighter surfaces and pale cabinetry that reflect light. In medium or large kitchens, the dark charcoal can be used more extensively without making the room feel cramped.
Is Ural Grey suitable for commercial counter applications?
Yes — the dark charcoal colour hides everyday marks and residue exceptionally well, the non-porous composition resists staining from all common commercial food and drink substances, and the Mohs 7 hardness ensures long-term durability under heavy daily use. The 10-year commercial warranty from LOTTE Chemical provides additional business confidence.
What flooring complements Ural Grey worktops?
Light-toned flooring creates the most effective contrast — pale oak, light grey porcelain tiles, or white marble-effect floor tiles all ground the dark worktop beautifully. Dark flooring combined with dark Ural Grey worktops can work in larger spaces with plenty of natural light, but risks making smaller rooms feel heavy. Mid-grey herringbone tiles offer a sophisticated middle ground.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
