The Stone

See the natural beauty of Calacatta Clara up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

White Grey Charcoal Brown

Off-white quartz with dense dark charcoal veining and rusty brown accents — a bold, complex calacatta design.

Sempre Calacatta Clara pushes the marble-effect aesthetic into bold, dramatic territory. Its soft off-white base with cool grey undertones carries a dense network of random, interconnected veining that spans the entire surface with significant visual movement. The veins vary from fine threads to medium-bold formations in striking dark charcoal grey, with accents of translucent lighter grey and subtle hints of warm rusty brown-red within the bolder formations. The gently cloudy, almost granular base texture adds depth beneath the veining, creating layers of visual interest. The polished finish brings the bold charcoal veining into sharp contrast against the light base. Calacatta Clara is designed for kitchens that want their marble character to make a genuine impact — it's confident, complex, and richly detailed. Manufactured by AKG Surfaces in the Sempre range with a 25-year warranty. Available in jumbo 3200 × 1600mm slabs with 20mm or 30mm thicknesses. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Calacatta Clara

What does Sempre Calacatta Clara look like?
Calacatta Clara has a soft off-white base with cool grey undertones, densely covered by interconnected veining in striking dark charcoal grey. Bolder veins contain translucent lighter grey accents and subtle rusty brown-red hints. The base has a gently cloudy, granular texture. The polished finish is smooth and reflective. It's bold, complex, and dramatically marble-inspired.
What makes Calacatta Clara different from Brittanica?
The intensity is the key difference. Brittanica has moderate mid-grey veining with charcoal accents — it's balanced and composed. Calacatta Clara has much denser, darker charcoal veining with additional warm brown-red accents — it's bolder and more dramatic. Clara also has a cloudier, more textured base that adds visual depth.
Is the brown-red accent noticeable?
The rusty brown-red hints are subtle and appear within the bolder charcoal veining — they're accent tones rather than dominant colours. They add warmth and complexity to the otherwise cool grey-and-white palette. Under warm kitchen lighting, the brown accents become slightly more apparent, enriching the overall visual character.
What design schemes suit Calacatta Clara?
The bold, dramatic character suits contemporary, luxury, and statement kitchens. It pairs well with simple, clean cabinetry — white, charcoal, or dark timber — that lets the complex worktop pattern dominate. Keep splashbacks simple. Brushed chrome or matt black hardware complements the cool charcoal veining.
How does the cloudy base texture affect the surface?
The gently cloudy, granular base texture adds visual depth beneath the veining — it creates the impression of looking into the surface rather than just at it. This layered quality makes Calacatta Clara feel more like natural marble, where the stone has geological depth, rather than a flat printed pattern on a white background.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
