The Stone

See the natural beauty of Calacatta Lucia up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Off-white quartz with dynamic diagonal grey veining and cloudy patches — a commanding, large-scale marble design.

Sempre Calacatta Lucia brings architectural scale to the calacatta marble aesthetic. Its off-white to very pale cream base provides a bright foundation for moderate to dense diagonal veining in cool to neutral grey. The veining comprises bold, medium, and fine thread-like lines, with diffused cloudy patches that transition into crisp darker lines, creating a dynamic push and pull between soft and sharp. Subtle hints of warm brown-grey appear within the finer details. The polished finish has a clear sheen and smooth visual texture without any speckling, letting the interplay between cloudy grey areas and defined veining take centre stage. Calacatta Lucia is a surface with real presence — the large-scale movement and varied vein widths create the kind of natural drama that static, uniform patterns cannot achieve. Manufactured by AKG Surfaces in the Sempre range with a 25-year warranty. Available in jumbo 3200 × 1600mm slabs with 20mm or 30mm thicknesses. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Calacatta Lucia

What does Sempre Calacatta Lucia look like?
Calacatta Lucia has an off-white to pale cream base with moderate to dense diagonal veining in cool to neutral grey. The veining mixes bold lines with diffused cloudy patches that transition into crisp darker lines. Warm brown-grey hints appear in the finer details. The polished finish has a clear sheen. It's a commanding, large-scale marble design with dynamic movement.
How does Lucia differ from Brittanica?
Both feature grey veining on white bases, but Lucia has more visual complexity. Brittanica's veining is cleaner and more defined — consistent mid-grey with charcoal accents. Lucia adds diffused, cloudy grey patches alongside crisp lines, creating a more atmospheric, layered quality. Lucia feels more organic and large-scale; Brittanica is more structured and composed.
Is the cloudy veining pattern noticeable from a distance?
Yes — the broad, diffused grey patches create visual impact even from across the room. Up close, the transition from cloudy areas into crisp, defined lines reveals additional detail. This dual quality — impactful at distance, detailed up close — gives Lucia a genuine sense of depth that simpler marble-effect designs lack.
What kitchen layouts suit Calacatta Lucia?
The large-scale diagonal movement works particularly well on long worktop runs and generously sized islands where the veining can flow uninterrupted. The jumbo slab format helps minimise joins. For L-shaped or U-shaped kitchens, In2Stone plans the slab layout during templating to maintain the natural flow of the veining at corners.
Does Sempre quartz need sealing?
No — Sempre quartz is non-porous and never requires sealing. The surface resists staining from wine, coffee, cooking oils, and other common kitchen substances. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Use trivets for hot pans and avoid prolonged direct sunlight. The 25-year warranty provides lasting peace of mind.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
