The Stone

See the natural beauty of Calacatta Magnificio up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

White Brown Gold

Bright white quartz with warm brown-grey veining and translucent crystal patches — a refined, layered marble surface.

Sempre Calacatta Magnificio offers a refined marble character with an unusual crystalline quality. Its bright white base carries moderate diagonal veining that branches and intersects across the surface. The veins combine fine thread-like lines in warm brown-grey with broader fractured segments that appear translucent white with an internal textured quality, outlined by the same warm brown-grey. A very pale golden undertone occasionally surfaces within the veining. The polished finish with its subtle sheen brings out the translucent quality of the broader vein sections — they appear to glow from within rather than sitting flat on the surface. This internal luminosity gives Magnificio a depth that distinguishes it from more conventionally veined designs. Manufactured by AKG Surfaces in the Sempre range with a 25-year warranty. Available in jumbo 3200 × 1600mm slabs with 20mm or 30mm thicknesses. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Calacatta Magnificio

What does Sempre Calacatta Magnificio look like?
Magnificio has a bright white base with moderate diagonal veining in warm brown-grey. The distinctive feature is the broader fractured vein sections that appear translucent white with an internal texture, outlined by brown-grey lines. A pale golden undertone occasionally surfaces. The polished finish has a subtle sheen. It's a refined marble-effect with unusual crystalline depth.
What creates the translucent quality in the veins?
The broader vein sections are designed to appear as translucent crystal-like formations within the marble pattern — they have an internal textured quality that catches and diffuses light. This effect is enhanced by the polished finish and varies subtly depending on the viewing angle and lighting conditions in your kitchen.
How does Magnificio compare to Calacatta Encore?
Both feature warm-toned veining on white bases, but the character differs significantly. Encore has bold, prominent rusty brown-gold veining with strong contrast — it's dramatic and warm. Magnificio has more moderate, refined veining with translucent crystal patches and subtler golden undertones — it's elegant and layered rather than bold.
What lighting best showcases Magnificio?
The translucent quality of the broader vein sections responds beautifully to warm, directional lighting. Under-cabinet lights and pendant fixtures that cast light across the surface at an angle bring out the crystalline depth most effectively. Natural daylight also enhances the subtle golden undertones in the veining.
Is Magnificio suitable for a feature island?
Absolutely. The refined, layered pattern rewards close-up appreciation, making it ideal for an island where people sit and look across the surface. The moderate veining density is visually interesting without being overwhelming over a large area. The jumbo slab format allows seamless coverage of most standard islands.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
