The Stone

See the natural beauty of Calacatta Venato up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

White Brown Grey

Bright white quartz with bold brown-grey veining and crystalline internal texture — a dramatic, ice-fractured marble surface.

Sempre Calacatta Venato takes the marble-effect into strikingly geological territory. Its bright white base is overlaid with moderate to dense veining in predominantly warm brown-grey, ranging from bold broad strokes to delicate thread-like lines. The distinctive feature is what happens within the broader veins — granular texture and intricate lighter grey patterns resembling shattered ice or fine crystallisation create internal complexity that standard marble designs rarely achieve. The polished finish lends a subtle reflective quality that brings the internal crystalline texture to life. Calacatta Venato has the presence of genuinely complex natural stone — the ice-fractured quality within the veining suggests geological forces rather than decorative design. It's a surface with real depth and authority. Manufactured by AKG Surfaces in the Sempre range with a 25-year warranty. Available in jumbo 3200 × 1600mm slabs with 20mm or 30mm thicknesses. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Calacatta Venato

What does Sempre Calacatta Venato look like?
Calacatta Venato has a bright white base with moderate to dense veining in warm brown-grey, ranging from bold strokes to fine threads. The standout feature is within the broader veins — granular texture and lighter grey patterns resembling shattered ice create internal crystalline complexity. The polished finish has a subtle reflective quality. It's dramatic, geological, and deeply textured.
What is the ice-fractured quality?
Within the broader veins, lighter grey patterns and granular texture create the impression of shattered ice or fine crystallisation — like looking into a frozen geological formation. This internal complexity is unusual in engineered quartz and gives Venato a genuine sense of depth that simpler, solid-colour veining cannot achieve.
How does Venato compare to Calacatta Clara?
Both are bold, dramatically veined designs on white bases, but they differ in vein character. Clara has dense charcoal veining with rusty brown-red accents — it's darker and more intensely contrasted. Venato has warm brown-grey veining with internal crystalline texture — it's more geological and layered. Clara is bold and dark; Venato is bold and complex.
Is Venato suitable for a large kitchen island?
Absolutely. The bold veining and internal crystalline detail create maximum impact on large, uninterrupted surfaces. The jumbo slab format (3200 × 1600mm) allows most islands to be cut from a single slab. Under pendant lighting, the ice-fractured internal texture catches light at different angles, creating visual interest from every seat.
What care does Venato need?
Standard Sempre care — wipe with warm soapy water and a soft cloth for daily cleaning. The non-porous surface resists all common kitchen stains. Always use trivets for hot pans. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners and prolonged direct sunlight exposure. The complex veining pattern is particularly forgiving of everyday marks and wear.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
