The Stone

See the natural beauty of Desert Silver up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Light warm grey base with fine white veining and subtle granular texture for understated marble refinement.

Silestone Desert Silver wraps a very light warm grey base with fine, thread-like veins of crisp white that meander randomly across the surface. The veining is sparse to moderate in density — some paths are longer and more linear, while shorter branching patterns create an organic network. A subtle fine granular texture throughout the base adds a tactile quality that prevents the surface from feeling flat. The polished finish reflects light gently without high gloss, giving Desert Silver a softness that suits relaxed, light-filled spaces. The reversed colour relationship — white veining on grey rather than the more common grey on white — creates a distinctive character that reads as refined rather than dramatic. It brings marble character to a kitchen without any of the visual weight associated with bolder patterns. Part of Silestone's Mythology collection, manufactured in Almería, Spain with Hybriq+® technology. Minimum 20% recycled materials, 100% renewable energy, 99% recycled water. Non-porous, stain-resistant, NSF certified. Supplied in jumbo 327 × 159 cm slabs with a 25-year warranty. Installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Desert Silver

What makes Desert Silver different from standard grey quartz?
Desert Silver has fine white veining that meanders across the light warm grey base, giving it genuine marble character. Unlike plain grey quartz surfaces, the veining creates organic movement and visual interest. The subtle granular texture adds further depth. It reads as a refined natural stone rather than a solid-colour engineered surface.
What cabinets pair well with Desert Silver?
The light warm grey base is exceptionally versatile. White cabinets create a bright, airy kitchen; darker charcoal or navy cabinets provide sophisticated contrast. The warm grey tone also works alongside timber cabinetry in oak or walnut, and pairs with both chrome and brass hardware. The understated character means Desert Silver complements rather than competes with surrounding design choices.
How does Desert Silver perform in daily use?
Desert Silver has the same high-performance Hybriq+® composition as all Silestone surfaces. Scratch-resistant, stain-resistant, and completely non-porous. The light grey colour has a practical advantage — it hides minor marks, water spots, and everyday kitchen residue better than both white and dark surfaces. It is one of the most forgiving colours for busy kitchens.
Where is Desert Silver produced?
Manufactured by Cosentino in Almería, Spain using Hybriq+® technology. The composition uses minimum 20% recycled materials and production runs on 100% renewable electricity with 99% recycled water. Desert Silver carries NSF food safety certification and a 25-year warranty.
Does Desert Silver need regular sealing?
Never. Desert Silver is completely non-porous, so sealing is not only unnecessary — it would serve no purpose. Clean daily with a damp cloth and mild detergent. The gently polished finish maintains itself well with minimal effort. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
