The Stone

See the natural beauty of Motion Grey up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Style:

Plain Subtle Natural Matte

Warm greige surface with soft cloud-like mottling and fine granular texture throughout a largely uniform slab.

Silestone Motion Grey delivers a warm greige tone that sits comfortably between grey and beige — neither cold nor overly warm. The surface reads as largely uniform at first glance, but closer inspection reveals a gentle, diffuse mottling where patches of slightly lighter off-white tones create quiet cloud-like movement beneath the surface. There is no distinct veining or linear pattern here. Fine granular elements embedded throughout the base give Motion Grey a tactile quality that feels grounded and material. Occasional pinpoint reflections catch the light, adding a subtle polish without any glossiness. The result is a surface that reads as calm and considered — a refined neutral that anchors a room without drawing attention to itself. It works as well in a contemporary handleless kitchen as it does in a bathroom vanity setting. Part of Silestone's Hybriq+® range, manufactured in Almería, Spain with minimum 20% recycled materials and 100% renewable energy. Non-porous, stain-resistant, and NSF certified. Supplied in jumbo 327 × 159 cm slabs with a 25-year warranty. Installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Motion Grey

What colour family does Silestone Motion Grey fall into?
Motion Grey sits in the greige family — a blend of grey and beige that avoids leaning too cool or too warm. In natural daylight the beige warmth is more apparent, while under cool LED lighting it reads closer to a neutral grey. This adaptability makes it one of the more versatile neutral tones in the Silestone range.
Does Motion Grey have any veining or pattern?
There is no veining in the traditional sense. The surface has a very subtle, diffuse mottling — gentle patches of slightly lighter tones that create a cloud-like softness within the overall greige colour. From a normal standing distance it appears largely uniform, with the mottling becoming visible on closer inspection. It is ideal if you want colour and texture without distinct pattern.
What cabinet colours pair well with Motion Grey?
The greige tone is exceptionally versatile. It pairs naturally with white cabinets for a clean, modern look, or with charcoal and dark navy for a more dramatic contrast. Warm wood tones in oak or walnut work beautifully alongside it, and sage green or dusty blue cabinets create a sophisticated tonal combination. Brushed stainless steel or matt black hardware both complement the neutral base.
Is the surface of Motion Grey smooth or textured?
Motion Grey has fine granular elements embedded within the surface that give it a subtle tactile quality. The finish is polished, so it feels smooth to the touch, but visually there is a gentle grain and texture present. It does not have the glass-like smoothness of a solid-colour slab, which actually helps hide minor surface marks in daily use.
How does Motion Grey compare to Silestone Marengo?
Motion Grey is considerably lighter and warmer than Marengo. While Marengo is a darker, cooler grey with fine speckle, Motion Grey is a pale greige with soft mottling rather than speckle. If you want a dark, defined grey choose Marengo; if you want a warm, light neutral that reads as calm and understated, Motion Grey is the better fit.

"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
