Cool, sophisticated dark charcoal with subtle vertical striations — like weathered mountain stone under an overcast sky.

Neolith Aspen Grey captures the moody, atmospheric beauty of mountain stone in a dark charcoal sintered surface of cool sophistication. Subtle vertical linear striations suggest layered sedimentary rock, adding just enough organic texture to distinguish it from flat, featureless dark surfaces. The overall effect is restrained and architectural — a surface that brings depth and gravitas to contemporary kitchens without overwhelming the design scheme. Part of the Fusion collection and finished in Silk, Aspen Grey works particularly well with light timber, brushed steel, and warm metallic accents, creating interiors that balance dramatic darkness with natural warmth.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Aspen Grey

What does Neolith Aspen Grey look like?
Neolith Aspen Grey presents a cool, sophisticated dark charcoal surface with subtle vertical linear striations that suggest layered sedimentary rock. The overall effect is moody and atmospheric — like weathered mountain stone under an overcast sky. It brings depth and gravitas to contemporary kitchens without overwhelming the design scheme.
What thicknesses is Aspen Grey available in?
Aspen Grey is available in 6mm and 12mm thicknesses, both finished in Silk. The 12mm thickness is ideal for kitchen worktops and island surfaces, while the 6mm format works well for splashbacks, wall cladding, and other vertical applications where the dark, atmospheric character can create dramatic visual impact.
What colours and materials complement Aspen Grey?
Aspen Grey works exceptionally well with light natural timber, pale oak, brushed steel, warm brass hardware, and white or cream cabinetry. The contrast between the dark charcoal surface and lighter surrounding materials creates a sophisticated, balanced interior. It also pairs beautifully with concrete flooring, industrial lighting, and warm textured fabrics for spaces that balance darkness with natural warmth.
Will Aspen Grey make my kitchen feel too dark?
Not necessarily. While Aspen Grey is a dark surface, its cool charcoal tone reflects more light than pure black surfaces, and the subtle sedimentary texture breaks up the darkness with gentle visual interest. When paired with light cabinetry, pale flooring, and adequate lighting, Aspen Grey adds depth and sophistication without making a kitchen feel oppressively dark. It is particularly effective as an island worktop where it contrasts with lighter perimeter surfaces.
Is Aspen Grey scratch-resistant?
Yes. Like all Neolith surfaces, Aspen Grey scores 6 on the Mohs hardness scale, making it highly resistant to scratches from kitchen utensils, knives, and everyday use. The Satin finish also means that any very fine surface marks from extreme use are far less visible than they would be on a polished surface. While we always recommend using chopping boards for knife longevity, the surface itself is exceptionally resilient.

"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
