The Stone

See the natural beauty of Krater up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this sintered stone unique.

Colour:

Dark Grey

Dark charcoal with a volcanic crater-like texturethat evokes ancient geological forces — raw, tactile, and powerfully atmospheric.

Neolith Krater draws its inspiration from the dark, primordial landscapes of volcanic craters — places where the earth’s raw power is written into every surface. Its dark charcoal tone carries a deeply textured quality, particularly in the Riverwashed finish where the surface develops genuine three-dimensional character with ridges and valleys that catch light dramatically. Available in both Riverwashed for maximum textural impact and Silk for a smoother interpretation, Krater brings volcanic atmosphere into kitchen and bathroom spaces. The dark, earthy tones create moody, enveloping interiors that feel grounded in geological time. A surface for homeowners who want their space to carry the weight and presence of the earth itself.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Krater

What does Neolith Krater look like?
Neolith Krater is a dark charcoal surface inspired by volcanic crater landscapes. In the Riverwashed finish, it develops genuine three-dimensional texture with ridges and valleys that catch light dramatically. In Silk, it presents a smoother, more refined interpretation. Both capture the moody, primordial atmosphere of volcanic geology.
What finishes is Krater available in?
Krater is available in two finishes: Riverwashed for maximum textural impact with genuine three-dimensional character, and Silk for a smoother, more refined surface. Both are available in 6mm, 12mm, and 20mm thicknesses. The Riverwashed finish is the more dramatic and statement-making option, while Silk is more universally practical for kitchen worktop use.
How does Krater compare to Ignea?
Both are dark, textured volcanic surfaces from the Fusion collection, but they differ in colour temperature. Krater is a cooler charcoal-black with a more ash-like quality. Ignea is warmer, with brown and earth tones that feel more like heated volcanic rock. Both are available in Riverwashed finish, but Ignea leans warm while Krater leans cool.
Is Krater suitable for an outdoor fire pit area?
Krater is an excellent choice for outdoor installations including fire pit surrounds, barbecue areas, and outdoor kitchen worktops. Its sintered stone composition provides complete resistance to UV damage, freeze-thaw cycles, and extreme temperature changes. The volcanic character also gains an additional layer of atmospheric appropriateness when used around fire features.
What lighting works best with Krater?
Krater comes alive under warm, directional lighting that plays across its textured surface, creating constantly shifting shadows and highlights. Under-cabinet LED strips, pendant lights positioned at an angle, and warm-toned spotlights all enhance the three-dimensional character of the Riverwashed finish. Avoid flat, diffuse overhead lighting that can flatten the texture.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
