Silhouette Black

Silhouette Black granite is a South Indian exotic that defies its name — this is not a black granite in any conventional sense. The slab presents a mottled base shifting between translucent off-white, light grey, and warm cream-beige tones, traversed by a dense network of fine to medium-thick veins in rich dark brown and near-black with hints of coppery brown. Significant opaque patches of warm beige and golden-brown are interspersed throughout, alongside clusters of dark grey-to-black mineral aggregates. The highly polished finish reveals a granular crystalline quality within the lighter areas, adding depth to an already complex surface.

The 'Black' in the name likely references the dark veining rather than the overall colour — in reality, Silhouette Black reads as a warm, richly veined exotic with substantial tonal range. The interplay between the translucent lighter areas and the opaque golden-brown patches creates a surface with genuine three-dimensional depth, especially under directional lighting. This is a stone that changes character depending on your viewing angle and the light falling on it. Performance is standard granite: Mohs 6–7 hardness, excellent heat resistance, and the dense crystalline structure that responds well to sealing.
