The Stone

See the natural beauty of Pietra Grey up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this porcelain unique.

Colour:

Grey Brown

A moody charcoal-brown porcelain with scattered white veining — deeply sophisticated warmth for contemplative spaces.

Pietra Grey inhabits the rich territory between dark grey and warm brown — a deep, contemplative surface scattered with delicate white veining that adds just enough movement to feel alive. The veins appear as fine scratches and longer flowing lines that cross the surface at various angles, never dominating but always present. Inspired by the prestigious Pietra Grey marble from Iran, this Infinity surface captures its characteristic warmth and depth in a consistent porcelain slab. The brown undertones make this surface feel warmer and more approachable than a pure grey, working beautifully with leather, timber, and burnished metal finishes. At 3200 × 1600mm, the Italian-made slab provides seamless coverage for large surfaces, and its sintered porcelain composition guarantees life-long resistance to stains, heat, and UV degradation.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Pietra Grey

What stone inspired Infinity Pietra Grey?
Pietra Grey is inspired by the prestigious Pietra Grey limestone quarried near Harsin in western Iran, widely regarded as one of the world's most beautiful grey stones. The original is prized for its dramatic dark grey base crossed with intricate pale veining. Infinity's porcelain rendering captures this distinctive character in a completely non-porous, maintenance-free format.
Is Infinity Pietra Grey a dark or light surface?
Pietra Grey sits in the mid-dark range — a sophisticated charcoal grey base overlaid with fine white and pale grey veining. It is noticeably darker than most grey marble effects but lighter than pure black surfaces. This mid-dark character makes it an excellent choice for kitchens that want depth and warmth without the full drama of a near-black surface.
What lighting works best with Infinity Pietra Grey?
Pietra Grey responds beautifully to warm lighting. Pendant lights with warm-white bulbs hung low over a Pietra Grey island create a moody, intimate atmosphere that highlights the intricate veining. Under-cabinet LED strips illuminate the worktop surface and bring out the subtle tonal variations within the grey. Avoid harsh, cold fluorescent lighting which can flatten the surface's character.
Can Infinity Pietra Grey be used for a fireplace surround?
Yes, Pietra Grey is an excellent choice for fireplace surrounds. The sintered porcelain body is completely heat-resistant, making it safe for use around fireplaces and log burners. Its sophisticated grey colouring and natural veining create an elegant focal point, and the 6mm thickness is particularly well-suited to cladding applications around mantelpieces and hearths.
What finishes are available for Infinity Pietra Grey?
Pietra Grey is available in both Satin and Polished finishes. The Satin finish has a soft, understated sheen that keeps the surface looking refined and natural. The Polished finish adds reflective depth that enhances the contrast between the dark grey base and the pale veining, creating a more luxurious, mirror-like appearance.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
