The Stone

Colour:

Black

Style:

Solid Plain

A velvety near-black porcelain with refined surface grain — Parisian nightlife glamour distilled into Italian ceramic.

Pigalle closes the Infinity collection with a surface that combines depth and sophistication in equal measure. Named for the famously atmospheric Parisian district, this very dark, near-black surface has a subtle matte texture and the faintest hint of surface grain that distinguishes it from the pure flatness of Absolute Black. The effect is velvety and refined — like the darkness of a well-appointed Parisian bar at twilight, where shadows have depth and even the darkest corners feel alive. Slightly softer and more textured than its solid-colour siblings, Pigalle offers a more nuanced, liveable approach to dark surfaces that works beautifully in residential kitchens, moody bathrooms, and intimate commercial settings. Crafted by Gruppo Concorde in Italy at 3200 × 1600mm with full sintered porcelain performance.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Pigalle

What makes Infinity Pigalle unique?
Pigalle is the darkest and most atmospheric plaster-effect surface in the entire Infinity collection. While most plaster effects come in light, neutral tones, Pigalle presents a velvety near-black with the faintest hint of surface grain. It combines the intimacy and warmth of dark interiors with the soft, handmade quality of plaster finishes.
What atmosphere does Infinity Pigalle create?
Pigalle creates an atmosphere of moody sophistication — like a well-appointed Parisian bar at twilight, where shadows have depth and every surface radiates quiet luxury. Its velvety near-black colour is warm rather than cold, creating intimacy rather than severity. It is the surface equivalent of a dimly lit room with flickering candles.
Is Infinity Pigalle suitable for a kitchen?
Pigalle can create a stunning kitchen when used thoughtfully — as a feature island surface or dramatic splashback rather than for every surface in the room. Balance it with lighter cabinetry, warm lighting, and reflective surfaces to prevent the dark colour from making the kitchen feel confined. In a large, well-lit kitchen, it is breathtaking.
Does Infinity Pigalle show fingerprints?
The matte plaster finish of Pigalle is more forgiving of fingerprints than a polished dark surface would be. The subtle surface grain and matte texture help to scatter light and mask finger marks. However, like any dark surface, it will require more frequent wiping than lighter alternatives to maintain a pristine appearance.
How does Infinity Pigalle differ from Absolute Black?
While both surfaces are very dark, they have fundamentally different characters. Absolute Black is a smooth, pure, uniform black with no texture or variation — intensely modern and industrial. Pigalle is softer, warmer, and more nuanced, with a velvety plaster quality and faint surface grain that gives it a handcrafted, atmospheric personality.

"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
