The Stone

See the natural beauty of Taj Mahal up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this porcelain unique.

Colour:

Beige Cream Brown

Warm light beige porcelain with fine crackle-like cream veining — a subtle, understated quartzite-inspired surface.

Optimum Taj Mahal captures the warm, layered beauty of natural Taj Mahal quartzite in porcelain form. Its warm light beige base with cream undertones is covered by a dense network of fine to medium-thick veining in slightly darker muted cream to pale warm brown-grey. The veins form an intricate, crackle-like pattern that moves organically in varied diagonal directions, creating a subtle, understated marble-effect character that feels genuine and naturally formed. The polished finish adds a gentle sheen that brings out the warm tonal shifts without adding high-gloss drama. Taj Mahal is the warmest, most neutral design in the Optimum marble collection — a surface for kitchens where calm, natural warmth takes priority over visual drama. As porcelain stoneware, it handles hot pans, acidic foods, and heavy daily use without any compromise. Manufactured in extra-large 1840 × 3300mm slabs from 100% natural raw materials. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Taj Mahal

What does Optimum Taj Mahal look like?
Taj Mahal has a warm light beige base with cream undertones, covered by dense, fine to medium-thick veining in muted cream to pale brown-grey. The veins form an intricate crackle-like pattern moving in varied organic directions. The polished finish has a gentle sheen. It's a warm, subtle, understated marble-effect — closer to natural quartzite than dramatic calacatta.
How does Optimum Taj Mahal compare to BQS Taj Mahal?
Both are warm beige surfaces inspired by natural Taj Mahal quartzite, but they're different materials. The Optimum version is porcelain stoneware — heat-proof, UV-stable, and suitable for outdoor use. The BQS version is engineered quartz — harder but not heat-proof. The porcelain version also comes in extra-large 1840 × 3300mm slabs compared to the quartz 3200 × 1600mm format.
What kitchen styles suit Taj Mahal?
The warm, neutral character works beautifully in farmhouse, Mediterranean, coastal, and warm contemporary kitchens. It pairs naturally with timber cabinetry, terracotta, natural linen, and warm metals. The understated pattern allows other design elements — statement tiles, colourful accessories, textured fabrics — to take the spotlight.
Is Taj Mahal suitable for an outdoor kitchen?
Yes — porcelain is fully UV-stable, so the warm beige colour won't fade under prolonged sunlight. It's also frost-resistant and impervious to moisture. The warm, natural aesthetic suits outdoor entertaining areas, barbecue stations, and poolside bars particularly well.
Does the crackle-like pattern affect durability?
Not at all — the pattern is a surface design on solid porcelain stoneware. The structural integrity is identical regardless of pattern. Optimum porcelain is extremely hard, scratch-resistant, and impact-resistant. The crackle pattern is purely aesthetic and has no effect on the surface's physical performance.

"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
