The Stone

See the natural beauty of Alaska up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

A pale, luminous off-white quartz with barely perceptible mottled texture — effortlessly clean and contemporary with a gentle concrete-like softness.

Alaska delivers the clean, spacious feel of a bright white surface with just enough subtle variation to avoid looking flat or clinical. The pale off-white to very light grey tone carries barely perceptible mottled texture — soft cloudy shadows that only reveal themselves on close inspection, giving the slab a genuine, material quality. There is no veining whatsoever, making Alaska one of the simplest and most versatile surfaces in the Compac range. The fine granular texture adds a gentle concrete-like softness that prevents the surface from reading as synthetic. Engineered by COMPAC in Spain with 93-95% natural quartz crystals, Alaska is completely non-porous and will never absorb water, oil, or food acids. NSF and Greenguard certified, it is a safe, hygienic choice for busy family kitchens. The 25-year residential warranty underscores its durability. Alaska works beautifully in open-plan kitchens where a bright, uncluttered worktop lets cabinetry and fixtures define the space.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Alaska

What does Compac Alaska look like?
Alaska is a pure white base with a subtle, uniformly distributed fine speckled texture across the entire surface. The micro-particles give it a soft, granite-like granularity that adds depth and visual interest while maintaining a predominantly bright white appearance. There is no veining — this is a clean, textured white.
How does Alaska differ from Snow?
Both Alaska and Snow are white surfaces with fine speckled texture, but they have a slightly different character. Alaska has a cooler, crisper white tone and the speckling contains slightly more contrasting darker particles, giving it a more defined granular texture. Snow is warmer and brighter with finer, less contrasting particles. View samples side by side to find the one that best suits your kitchen lighting.
Is Alaska a good choice for hiding everyday mess?
Yes. The fine speckled texture across the white surface does an excellent job of camouflaging crumbs, water marks, and minor dust that can be visible on perfectly uniform white worktops. This makes Alaska a practical middle ground — you get the brightness of a white worktop with a forgiving texture that reduces the need for constant wiping.
Does the speckled texture in Alaska feel rough?
No, the surface is completely smooth to the touch despite the visual speckled texture. The particles are embedded within the quartz matrix during manufacturing, creating a polished, hygienic surface that is just as easy to clean as any other Compac Quartz product. The texture is visual only.
What edge profiles suit Alaska best?
Alaska's clean, speckled white works well with all edge profiles. A pencil round or eased edge keeps the look contemporary and understated. A bevelled edge adds definition and catches the light beautifully against the speckled surface. For a more traditional feel, a bullnose or ogee profile adds classical elegance that pairs well with Shaker-style cabinetry.

"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
