About Compac Quartz

Compac Technological Quartz is a premium engineered stone manufactured by the Spanish company COMPAC — The Surfaces Company, combining 93-95% pure natural quartz crystals with advanced polyester or BIO-resins derived from renewable vegetable sources. The result is a collection of 34 stunning surfaces spanning five distinctive collections — Classic, Elegance, Ice, Ice Max, Luxury, Nebulous, and Unique — each offering a different approach to contemporary surface design. From the ultra-minimalist purity of Glaciar and Nocturno to the theatrical drama of Ice Max Black and Unique Calacatta Black, from the warm golden luxury of Luxury Borghini and Ice Gold to the distinctively unusual violet tones of Ice Viola and Ice Max Viola, Compac Quartz covers an extraordinarily broad design palette. Every surface is completely non-porous, NSF and Greenguard certified for food safety and indoor air quality, and naturally resistant to stains, bacteria, and everyday kitchen wear. Backed by a generous 25-year residential warranty and 10-year commercial warranty, Compac Quartz delivers the beauty of natural marble, granite, and concrete with none of the sealing, staining, or maintenance concerns. At In2stone, we supply and install the complete Compac Quartz range with expert templating, precision CNC fabrication, and skilled installation across Portsmouth, Hampshire and the surrounding area.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Compac Quartz

What is Compac Quartz made from?
Compac Technological Quartz is composed of 93-95% pure natural quartz crystals bound together with 5-7% high-quality polyester or BIO-resins derived from renewable vegetable sources and mineral pigments. This advanced composition creates a surface that is completely non-porous, naturally bacteriostatic, and exceptionally hard-wearing. Every slab is manufactured at COMPAC's facility in Spain using state-of-the-art compaction and curing technology.
Does Compac Quartz need sealing?
No, never. Compac Quartz has virtually zero porosity, which means liquids, oils, and food acids cannot penetrate the surface at any point. Unlike natural marble or granite, there is no need for initial sealing, periodic re-sealing, or any specialist surface treatments. Simply wipe clean with warm water and a mild detergent for a lifetime of maintenance-free performance.
What warranty does Compac Quartz offer?
Compac Quartz surfaces come with an industry-leading 25-year residential warranty and a 10-year commercial warranty. This generous coverage reflects the exceptional durability and manufacturing quality behind every slab. When installed by In2stone, you also benefit from our own workmanship guarantee covering fabrication, templating, and installation.
Is Compac Quartz hygienic and food-safe?
Absolutely. Compac Quartz is NSF certified for food contact and Greenguard certified for indoor air quality. Its completely non-porous surface is naturally bacteriostatic — meaning bacteria cannot penetrate or colonise the surface without the need for chemical antibacterial treatments. This makes it one of the most hygienic worktop materials available for kitchens where food safety is paramount.
Can I place hot pans directly on Compac Quartz?
We recommend always using a trivet or heat mat for pans and trays taken directly from the hob or oven. While Compac Quartz is highly durable, sudden extreme temperature changes can potentially cause thermal shock to the resin matrix that binds the quartz crystals. A simple trivet protects your investment and ensures the surface remains flawless for decades.
How many designs does Compac Quartz offer?
The Compac Quartz collection features 34 surfaces organised across several distinctive collections including Classic pure solids, Elegance marble-effects, Ice and Ice Max dramatic veined designs, Luxury gold-veined premium surfaces, and the Unique collection of Calacatta and Arabescato-inspired marbles. The range spans everything from minimalist pure whites and blacks to bold, theatrical veining and unusual violet tones — one of the broadest design palettes in engineered quartz.
Is Compac Quartz suitable for bathrooms as well as kitchens?
Yes, Compac Quartz performs beautifully in bathrooms, en-suites, and wet areas. Its zero-porosity surface is completely waterproof and resistant to soap, cosmetics, and toiletries. It works excellently for vanity tops, splashbacks, shower niches, and wall cladding. The same 25-year residential warranty applies regardless of where the surface is installed within the home.
How does Compac Quartz compare to natural marble?
Compac Quartz offers the visual beauty of natural marble — including faithful Calacatta, Carrara, and Arabescato reproductions — without any of marble's practical drawbacks. Natural marble is porous and requires periodic sealing, can etch from contact with lemon juice or vinegar, and stains from wine and coffee. Compac Quartz is completely non-porous, acid-resistant, stain-proof, and maintenance-free, while its advanced manufacturing achieves remarkably natural-looking veining patterns.
