The Stone

See the natural beauty of Plomo up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

A commanding dark charcoal quartz with a completely uniform solid surface — industrial refinement that sits confidently between mid-grey and pure black.

Plomo occupies the important middle ground between the mid-grey of Ceniza and the absolute darkness of Nocturno. Its medium-dark charcoal surface is completely uniform — no veining, no speckling, and no texture variation — just smooth, solid grey from edge to edge. The polished finish adds a subtle sheen that catches light without distracting from the slab's monolithic simplicity. Plomo is the darkest of the Compac range's grey solid surfaces, making it the go-to choice for contemporary kitchens that need a dark worktop without committing to full black. It works particularly well with light grey cabinetry and brushed stainless-steel fixtures, creating a layered tonal palette that feels sophisticated and cohesive. Manufactured by COMPAC in Spain from 93-95% natural quartz crystals. Completely non-porous and resistant to staining from coffee, wine, and cooking oils. NSF and Greenguard certified. The 25-year residential warranty provides long-term confidence for domestic installations.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Plomo

What colour is Compac Plomo?
Plomo — meaning lead in Spanish — is a solid, uniform dark charcoal grey with absolutely no veining, speckling, or pattern variation. It sits between the medium grey of Ceniza and the near-black of Nocturno in the Compac Classic collection. The polished finish adds a refined, subtle sheen to the dark surface.
How does Plomo compare to Ceniza and Nocturno?
These three form a graduated tonal scale within the Compac Classic range. Ceniza is a medium grey — bright enough to feel open and accessible. Plomo is a commanding dark charcoal — serious and architectural but still clearly grey. Nocturno is near-black — the absolute darkest option. Pick based on how deep you want your grey.
Is Plomo a good choice for a modern industrial kitchen?
Perfectly suited. The dark, uniform charcoal tone pairs naturally with exposed brick, concrete flooring, matte black fixtures, and brushed stainless-steel appliances. Plomo brings the architectural weight and industrial credibility that this style demands without the complexity of veining or pattern.
Will dark grey Plomo make my kitchen feel small?
Dark surfaces can actually create a sense of depth and sophistication when balanced with lighter elements. White or pale grey wall cabinets, light flooring, and plenty of natural or artificial light prevent any sense of enclosure. Plomo on a kitchen island with lighter perimeter worktops is a particularly effective approach.
What metallic hardware suits Plomo?
Brushed stainless steel provides an industrial-chic pairing. Polished chrome adds crisp, contemporary definition. Brushed brass creates a luxurious warm-cool contrast that elevates the charcoal surface. Matte black hardware creates a sleek, monochromatic scheme. Plomo's neutrality makes it remarkably accommodating of different metallic finishes.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
