The Stone

See the natural beauty of Ice Black up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

A dramatic deep black quartz with sweeping white cloud-like veining — bold, turbulent marbling that evokes stormy skies over dark water.

Ice Black is one of the most visually striking surfaces COMPAC has ever produced. Its deep black base serves as the stage for large, sweeping cloud-like formations of white and cream-toned veining that flow across the slab in bold, turbulent patterns. The contrast is extreme and immediate — intense darkness broken by organic bursts of lighter tone that resemble storm clouds or flowing water. The polished finish adds genuine depth and reflectivity, making the veining appear to float within the surface. This is a statement worktop designed for spaces where drama takes centre stage — kitchen islands, bar counters, feature walls, and luxury bathroom vanities. The dark base hides kitchen activity marks exceptionally well, while the bold veining prevents the surface from looking monotonous. Manufactured by COMPAC in Spain from 93-95% natural quartz, Ice Black is completely non-porous and backed by a 25-year residential warranty. NSF and Greenguard certified for peace of mind in food preparation environments.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Ice Black

What does Compac Ice Black look like?
Ice Black features a deep black base with dramatic white and grey veining streaking across the surface in flowing, directional patterns. The contrast between the dark ground and bright veining creates a bold, theatrical aesthetic — like lightning captured in polished stone. This is one of the most dramatic surfaces in the Compac range.
Is Ice Black too dramatic for a small kitchen?
Dark surfaces can actually work beautifully in smaller kitchens when balanced with light walls, reflective surfaces, and good lighting. Used on an island with lighter perimeter worktops, Ice Black creates a stunning focal point without closing the space in. The white veining provides visual relief and prevents the surface from feeling heavy.
Does Ice Black show fingerprints and water marks?
Like all dark polished surfaces, fingerprints and water marks can be more visible under certain lighting conditions, but they wipe away instantly with a soft cloth. Many homeowners find this a minor trade-off for the extraordinary visual drama Ice Black delivers. For daily cleaning, a microfibre cloth with warm soapy water keeps it looking pristine.
What cabinet colours work with Ice Black?
White or pale grey cabinets create the essential contrast that lets Ice Black's dramatic veining take centre stage. Light oak or birch timber creates a warmer, more grounded contrast. We generally advise against dark cabinets with Ice Black unless your kitchen has excellent natural light, otherwise the overall effect can feel too heavy.
How does Ice Black compare to the Ice Max Black?
Both feature dark bases with white veining, but the scale and drama differ significantly. Ice Black has moderately scaled veining with a balanced dark-to-light ratio. Ice Max Black pushes the contrast to maximum intensity — bolder, thicker veining and even more dramatic movement. Choose Ice Black for confident drama, Ice Max Black for maximum theatrical impact.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
