Abstract Dramatic Mottled

Cool grey quartz with dense abstract blue and charcoal mottling — a bold, dramatically atmospheric surface.

Nilestone Cloud Burst creates a stormy atmospheric surface unlike anything else in the range. Its light cool grey base with faint blue undertones is entirely covered by a dense abstract mottled pattern. Irregular organic patches of medium to dark dusty blues and charcoal blue-greys intersperse with lighter almost white-grey areas creating cloudy non-directional movement. The polished or semi-polished finish has a subtle sheen across varied tones. The intricate mottling provides rich visual texture. Cloud Burst earns its name — it captures the turbulent moment a storm breaks through cloud cover. The blue and charcoal tones create genuine atmospheric drama. Engineered from 93% natural quartz with polymer resins. Non-porous, scratch resistant (Mohs 7), NSF and Greenguard certified. 15-year warranty. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Cloud Burst

What does Nilestone Cloud Burst look like?
Cloud Burst has a cool grey base with blue undertones, entirely covered by dense abstract mottling in dusty blues, charcoal blue-greys, and lighter white-grey areas. Non-directional cloudy movement. Polished with subtle sheen. A dramatically atmospheric surface — stormy, abstract, and boldly unlike any marble design.
What creates the blue tones?
Dusty blue and charcoal blue-grey tones permeate the mottled pattern, creating genuine atmospheric colour. These aren't vivid blues but muted, stormy tones that shift between blue and grey depending on lighting. Under warm artificial light the blues become more subtle; under natural daylight they become more pronounced.
Is this a marble design?
No — Cloud Burst is abstract rather than marble-inspired. It doesn't replicate any natural stone pattern. Instead, it creates a weathered, atmospheric surface reminiscent of storm clouds or oxidised metal. It's for kitchens that want drama without the marble vocabulary.
What cabinetry suits Cloud Burst?
White cabinetry creates bright contrast against the stormy surface. Navy blue cabinetry connects with the blue tones. Natural timber adds warm grounding against the cool palette. The dramatic pattern should lead — keep cabinetry simple and let Cloud Burst be the kitchen's defining surface material.
How unusual is a blue-toned worktop?
Blue-toned worktops are rare in the UK market — most ranges focus on white marble and grey concrete effects. Cloud Burst offers a distinctive alternative for clients who want something genuinely different. The muted, stormy blue is far more versatile than vivid blue and creates kitchens with real character.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
