Concrete Effect Mottled Industrial Subtle

Light off-white quartz with diffused grey mottling and charcoal speckling — a subtle concrete-meets-marble surface.

Sempre Cemento Matte bridges the gap between concrete and marble aesthetics. Its very light off-white base carries randomly diffused veining and mottling in soft warm light grey, varying from fine subtle wisps to broader cloudy areas. Some zones feature denser concentrations of darker, almost charcoal speckling and faint irregular lines, adding depth and variation. The smooth, honed finish maintains the matte character that the name promises. Cemento Matte isn't a pure concrete design or a pure marble — it sits in between, offering the soft mottling of weathered cement with the flowing quality of marble. This hybrid character makes it unusually versatile, working in both industrial and traditional schemes. Manufactured by AKG Surfaces in the Sempre range with a 25-year warranty. Available in jumbo 3200 × 1600mm slabs with 20mm or 30mm thicknesses. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Cemento Matte

What does Sempre Cemento Matte look like?
Cemento Matte has a very light off-white base with randomly diffused mottling and wisps in soft warm light grey. Some areas have denser charcoal speckling and faint irregular lines. The finish is smooth and honed — true to its 'matte' name. It sits between concrete and marble aesthetics — soft, mottled, and subtly industrial.
Is Cemento Matte a concrete-effect or marble-effect?
It's genuinely both — the soft, cloudy mottling suggests weathered concrete, while the wispy, flowing quality of the lighter areas hints at marble movement. This hybrid character gives it unusual versatility. In an industrial kitchen it reads as refined concrete; in a traditional kitchen it reads as very subtle marble.
What finish does Cemento Matte have?
Despite the name suggesting matte, the actual finish appears smooth and finely honed — not as textured as a true raw concrete finish. It has very low reflectivity without being completely flat. This makes it more practical than a rough-textured finish while maintaining the understated, non-glossy aesthetic the design intends.
How does Cemento Matte compare to Concrete Terreno?
Cemento Matte has a lighter, off-white base with warm grey mottling — brighter and more marble-leaning. Concrete Terreno has a mid-grey base with cool grey mottling — darker and more purely industrial. Cemento is the lighter, warmer, more hybrid design; Terreno is the more committed concrete aesthetic.
What kitchen styles suit Cemento Matte?
Its versatility is the key strength. It works in contemporary, industrial, Scandinavian, transitional, and minimalist kitchens. The light base keeps kitchens feeling bright, while the subtle mottling adds character. It pairs well with both warm timber and cool metalwork, making it a safe choice for kitchens that don't want to commit to a single style.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
