The Stone

See the natural beauty of Africa up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Deep black quartz with a dense lightning-like network of bright white fractured veining from the Veined collection.

Quartzforms Africa is part of the Veined collection — and it delivers some of the most intense visual drama in the Quartzforms range. The surface presents a deep uniform black base covered by a dense intricate network of fine to medium-thick veining in bright white and light grey. The veining spreads randomly with a fractured web-like appearance that covers the entire surface. Some areas exhibit a slight granular or clustered texture within the lighter patterns. The smooth finish highlights the strong contrast between the dark background and the luminous veining, creating a bold character that evokes natural stone with prominent lightning-like white patterns.

Africa lives up to the scale and drama of its continental namesake. The density of the white veining is significantly higher than surfaces like Jupiter or Pluto — this is a surface where the white network competes with the black base for visual dominance, creating a balance of forces that feels genuinely geological. The lightning-like fracture patterns are complex and irregular, with veins splitting, converging, and creating intricate networks that reward close inspection. The slight granular texture within the lighter areas adds depth, preventing the white zones from reading as flat or painted.

In2Stone recommends Africa as a statement surface for clients who want maximum visual impact. The dense veining makes it particularly effective on large surfaces — kitchen islands and breakfast bars — where the fracture network can flow uninterrupted. White or very light cabinetry provides the strongest complementary backdrop. Hardware in chrome or matt black reinforces the monochromatic drama.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Africa

How dense is the white veining?
Very dense — the intricate white network covers a significant portion of the black surface, creating an even balance between dark and light. This density is higher than most other dark Quartzforms surfaces, giving Africa a unique intensity where neither black nor white dominates.
What is the Veined collection?
The Veined collection is Quartzforms' range of surfaces defined primarily by their vein patterns — from subtle to dramatic. Africa sits at the dramatic end with its dense lightning-like fracture network. Other Veined collection surfaces offer different scales and intensities of veining.
Does Africa look like natural stone?
The vision analysis notes it strongly evokes natural stone with lightning-like white patterns. The fractured web-like veining mimics the fracture networks found in natural marble and granite. The granular texture within the lighter areas adds authenticity. It reads as genuinely geological.
Is Africa suitable for full kitchen coverage?
The dense high-contrast pattern can be intense across every surface. It works most effectively as a feature surface — island, bar, or single run — with simpler surfaces elsewhere. In very large kitchens with white cabinetry and plenty of visual breathing room, broader coverage can work dramatically.
How does Africa compare to Crono?
Both are dramatic dark surfaces with white veining. Crono (Ecotone New Era) has bold white veins WITH golden-bronze undertones — warm and layered. Africa (Veined) has dense white veining WITHOUT warm tones — pure monochrome drama. Africa is busier; Crono is warmer. Choose based on density and warmth preference.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
