The Stone

See the natural beauty of Fenice up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Style:

Terrazzo Speckled Polished

Bright white terrazzo-effect quartz with bold jet black chips accented by peachy-pink and warm brown fragments.

Quartzforms Fenice is part of the Terrazzo collection — named for Venice's legendary opera house, La Fenice. The surface presents a bright white base densely populated with an array of irregular inclusions. The dominant pattern consists of bold jet black flecks of varying sizes randomly distributed across the surface. These are accented by smaller more subtle fragments in warm peachy-pink, light grey, and occasional warm brown tones, creating a busy yet harmonious visual texture. The smooth polished or honed finish reflects no significant surface texture beyond the visual granularity of the embedded elements.

Fenice is the most high-contrast design in the Terrazzo collection — the bold jet black chips against the bright white base create graphic impact that Gritti's more muted multi-colour palette does not attempt. The peachy-pink accents add an unexpected warmth that prevents the black-and-white contrast from feeling stark or cold. This combination of bold contrast with subtle warm accents creates a surface that feels both modern and characterful — the terrazzo tradition reinterpreted with contemporary confidence.

In2Stone recommends Fenice for clients who want terrazzo character with stronger visual impact than the softer Gritti. The black-and-white contrast works well with contemporary and industrial kitchen designs, while the peachy-pink accents soften the aesthetic for warmer schemes. White or charcoal cabinetry provides the strongest visual framework, with hardware in matt black or brushed nickel reinforcing the monochromatic core.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Fenice

How bold are the black chips?
Bold and prominent — the jet black flecks are the dominant visual element, creating strong graphic contrast against the bright white base. They vary in size from fine specks to larger pieces, distributed randomly across the surface. The black chips give Fenice a more dramatic character than the subtler Gritti.
What is La Fenice?
La Fenice is Venice's most famous opera house — 'fenice' means 'phoenix' in Italian. The building has been destroyed by fire and rebuilt twice, earning its mythical name. The Quartzforms surface captures the dramatic, theatrical character associated with this legendary cultural venue.
Are the pink accents very visible?
The peachy-pink fragments are smaller and more subtle than the dominant black chips. They provide warm accent notes throughout the surface rather than competing with the black-and-white contrast. The pink becomes more noticeable on close inspection, adding a softening warmth to the bold overall design.
How does Fenice compare to Gritti?
Both are white-based terrazzo designs but with very different personalities. Gritti has multicoloured chips in charcoal, olive, brown, and pink — harmonious and diverse. Fenice has dominant jet black chips with subtle pink accents — bolder and more high-contrast. Gritti is the warmer, softer choice; Fenice is the graphic, dramatic one.
Does terrazzo-effect hide kitchen mess well?
Excellently — the busy chip pattern camouflages crumbs, water spots, fingerprints, and minor marks very effectively. Terrazzo-effect surfaces are among the most practical designs for busy family kitchens. Fenice's high-contrast pattern is particularly good at concealing everyday kitchen debris.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
