The Stone

See the natural beauty of Halley up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Deep black quartz with bold off-white and metallic coppery-gold dual-tone veining from the Planet collection.

Quartzforms Halley is part of the Planet collection — named for the most famous comet in human history and delivering suitably celestial drama. The surface presents a dominant uniform deep black base prominently patterned with sparse to moderate veining in both diagonal and horizontal orientations. The veins vary from medium to bold and present in two primary colours — bright off-white to very light warm grey and contrasting metallic coppery-gold. The polished finish is smooth and consistent, with the veins exhibiting slightly irregular organic edges. The combination creates a bold high-contrast marble-effect.

Halley is the dark counterpart to the dual-tone approach seen in Honey Galaxy and Tempel — but executed at maximum contrast on a black base. The combination of white and coppery-gold veining creates an effect that genuinely evokes the luminous tail of a comet streaking across dark space. The coppery-gold veins add a metallic warmth that pure white-on-black designs lack, while the white veins provide graphic clarity. The varying orientations — diagonal and horizontal — create dynamic movement across the slab, preventing the pattern from feeling static.

In2Stone recommends Halley as a dramatic statement piece for clients who want dark luxury with metallic warmth. The coppery-gold tones pair naturally with brushed brass, copper, or antique gold hardware. White or cream cabinetry creates striking contrast; dark timber creates a rich, enveloping atmosphere. Like its comet namesake, Halley makes a powerful impression that guests will remember.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Halley

What makes Halley's veining dual-tone?
The veining presents in two distinct colour families — bright off-white to warm grey AND metallic coppery-gold. These two vein colours coexist on the deep black base, creating a rich visual complexity. The white veins provide graphic contrast; the coppery-gold adds warmth and metallic richness.
How does Halley compare to Crono?
Both are dramatic dark surfaces with dual-tone veining. Crono (Ecotone New Era) has bold white primary veins with a finer golden-bronze network underneath — layered depth. Halley (Planet) has medium-to-bold white AND coppery-gold veins at the same prominence level — equal partnership. Crono is the sustainable option.
Is the coppery-gold metallic or just warm-toned?
The vision analysis describes the coppery-gold as having a metallic quality — it catches light with a warm shimmer rather than appearing as flat warm brown. This metallic character adds a luxurious dimension that non-metallic colours cannot achieve.
Is Halley named after the comet?
Yes — Halley's Comet (1P/Halley) is the most famous periodic comet, visible from Earth every 75-79 years. The surface's luminous white and gold veining against the dark base evokes the visual spectacle of a comet's bright tail trailing across dark space.
What hardware finish works best with Halley?
Brushed brass or copper hardware echoes the coppery-gold veining, creating a cohesive warm metallic theme. Chrome or brushed nickel pairs with the white veining for a cooler contrast. Matt black hardware disappears against the dark base, letting the veining be the sole visual focus.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
