The Stone

See the natural beauty of Hull up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Deep warm brown-grey quartz with dramatic lighter veining creating a dark marble-effect from the Breeze collection.

Quartzforms Hull is part of the Breeze collection — and it is the most dramatic surface in this typically understated range. The surface presents a deep warm brown-grey base patterned with moderate to dense random veining in contrasting light grey and off-white tones. The veining ranges from fine thread-like lines to broader irregular strokes creating organic crack-like movement. The low-sheen matte or honed finish reveals a finely granular texture within the base material. The character is dramatic yet refined — a natural stone effect evoking dark marble or quartzite.

Hull takes its name from the structural body of a vessel — and there is something genuinely ship-like about this surface. The deep warm brown-grey base has the density and depth of aged timber or tarred hull planking, while the lighter veining creates fracture patterns that suggest geological force or weathered grain. The moderate-to-dense vein coverage makes Hull the busiest and most visually active Breeze surface — a dramatic departure from Blanc's and Sand's minimalism. The matte finish keeps the drama grounded, preventing the surface from becoming too glossy or glamorous.

In2Stone recommends Hull for clients who want dark natural stone drama with the Breeze collection's honest material character. The deep warm base creates intimate kitchen atmospheres. White or cream cabinetry provides strong contrast; dark timber creates a tonal depth effect. Hardware in brushed nickel or chrome echoes the lighter veining.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Hull

How dramatic is Hull compared to other Breeze surfaces?
Very — Hull is the most visually active surface in the Breeze collection. While Blanc and Sand are minimal near-solids, Hull has moderate-to-dense veining creating dramatic contrast. It brings genuine visual energy to a typically understated collection.
What does Hull mean?
The hull is the structural body of a ship — the shell that meets the water. The surface's deep warm brown-grey with fracture-like veining evokes weathered timber or tarred planking. The name connects to the Breeze collection's maritime and coastal theme.
Is the veining organic or geometric?
Organic — random irregular strokes create crack-like movement that feels genuinely geological. The veining meanders and branches naturally, mimicking the fracture patterns found in natural marble and quartzite. No two slabs will show identical vein placement.
How does Hull compare to Africa?
Both are dark surfaces with dramatic lighter veining. Africa (Veined) has a pure black base with dense lightning-like white veining — more intense and monochromatic. Hull (Breeze) has a warmer brown-grey base with organic grey-white veining and matte finish — warmer and more grounded.
Is the matte finish important for Hull's character?
Essential — the matte finish grounds Hull's drama in material honesty. A polished finish would make the same veining pattern feel glamorous and glossy; matte makes it feel natural and geological. The tactile quality of the matte surface reinforces the raw material character.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
