The Stone

See the natural beauty of Imperial Meringa up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

White Cream Brown

Style:

Terrazzo Speckled Polished

Off-white quartz with busy conglomerate-like aggregate texture and warm taupe fragments from the Imperial collection.

Quartzforms Imperial Meringa is part of the Imperial collection — though its character leans closer to a refined terrazzo than a marble-effect. The surface presents an off-white base with subtle warm undertone, densely populated by a random busy pattern of various-sized inclusions. Larger irregularly shaped fragments in warm brown-grey taupe are sparsely distributed, complemented by numerous smaller fine granular specks and amorphous shapes in lighter off-white tones. The polished finish accentuates the intricate mottled granular texture. The character is understated yet busy — a refined terrazzo or natural conglomerate-like structure.

Meringa — Italian for 'meringue' — captures the textured, broken quality of its confectionery namesake. The aggregate composition creates visual complexity through texture rather than veining — every square centimetre has something to see, from the larger taupe fragments to the fine granular speckling. This makes Meringa one of the most texturally rich surfaces in the Quartzforms range, sitting between the smooth marble-effects and the more structured terrazzo designs. The warm undertone in the off-white base and the taupe fragments give it an organic warmth.

In2Stone recommends Imperial Meringa for clients who want textural interest without the bold contrast of veined designs or the obvious chip patterns of terrazzo. It is supremely practical — the busy aggregate texture camouflages every kind of everyday mark. Cream, warm white, and timber cabinetry complement the warm undertones. Hardware in brushed brass or antique bronze echoes the taupe warmth.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Imperial Meringa

Is Meringa a terrazzo or marble-effect?
Neither exactly — it sits between the two. The aggregate texture has terrazzo-like complexity with visible fragments and granular speckling, but the distribution and colouring feel more like a natural conglomerate stone. It offers textural richness without the bold chip patterns of formal terrazzo.
What does Meringa mean?
Meringa is Italian for 'meringue' — the light, textured confection. The surface captures meringue's broken, textured quality — the way its surface is busy with varying shapes and sizes of fragments, all in warm off-white tones.
What are the taupe fragments?
Larger irregularly shaped inclusions in warm brown-grey taupe are sparsely distributed throughout the off-white base. These fragments add visual weight and warm accent points, breaking up the lighter base with natural-looking stone-like elements.
How practical is the busy texture?
Exceptionally practical — the dense aggregate pattern camouflages crumbs, water spots, fingerprints, and everyday marks more effectively than almost any other surface. Meringa is one of the most maintenance-friendly designs in the Quartzforms range.
How does Meringa compare to the Terrazzo collection?
The Terrazzo collection (Gritti, Fenice, etc.) has larger visible aggregate chips in defined colours — more structured and deliberate. Meringa has a finer, more granular aggregate with softer colour variation — more organic and subtle. Meringa is the refined, understated alternative to formal terrazzo.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
