The Stone

See the natural beauty of Night Black up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Style:

Speckled Plain Polished

Deep solid black quartz with fine bright white speckling and a polished shimmering finish from the Extreme collection.

Quartzforms Night Black is part of the Extreme collection — offering dark sophistication with a subtle shimmering quality. The surface presents a deep solid black base creating a rich profound background. There is no visible veining or directional pattern — instead, very fine sparse randomly distributed speckles of bright white or light grey uniformly cover the surface. These minute reflective flecks impart a subtle granular texture and suggest a polished finish that captures and reflects light. The character is understated and sophisticated — a plain solid surface with delicate shimmering effect.

Night Black shares DNA with Cloudy Belgian Blue — both are dark near-solid surfaces with bright speckling — but Night Black is deeper, blacker, and more polished. The bright white speckles on the true black base create a starfield effect that is genuinely captivating under kitchen lighting. The polished finish amplifies this quality, allowing the minute flecks to catch light and create subtle sparkle. The overall effect is of looking into deep black water with sunlight picking out suspended particles — simultaneously dark and alive.

In2Stone recommends Night Black for clients who want a dark dramatic surface with more visual interest than plain solid black but without the complexity of veining. The starfield speckling is practical too — fingerprints and water spots are camouflaged by the bright flecks far more effectively than on unbroken black. White or light cabinetry creates graphic contrast; dark cabinetry creates an immersive dark atmosphere. Chrome hardware catches the same light as the speckling.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Night Black

How does Night Black compare to Cloudy Belgian Blue?
Both are dark surfaces with bright speckling. Cloudy Belgian Blue has a brown-black base with dense white speckling and matte finish. Night Black has a true black base with sparser bright speckling and polished finish. Night Black is darker and more polished; Belgian Blue is warmer and more textured.
Does the polished finish show marks?
Polished dark surfaces can show fingerprints under directional lighting. However, Night Black's bright speckling camouflages marks more effectively than plain polished black. The minute reflective flecks draw the eye, making fingerprints and water spots less noticeable.
What creates the shimmering effect?
Very fine bright white or light grey speckles randomly distributed across the polished black base catch light from different angles. The polished finish amplifies this effect, creating subtle sparkle. Under kitchen spotlights, the speckling creates a starfield-like quality.
Is Night Black too dark for a kitchen?
Dark worktops work well in kitchens with plenty of natural or artificial light and lighter cabinetry to balance the darkness. As a feature island or breakfast bar, Night Black creates dramatic impact without overwhelming the room. In smaller kitchens, pair with white cabinetry to maintain brightness.
How does this differ from Absolute Deep Black?
Absolute Deep Black is pure flat black with no speckling or texture — total visual silence. Night Black has bright white speckling and polished shimmer — subtle visual interest. Night Black is more practical and more forgiving in daily use due to the speckling camouflaging marks.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
