The Stone

See the natural beauty of Pier up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

Grey Brown Cream

Mid-tone warm brown-grey quartz with sparse lighter veining and concrete-like character from the Breeze collection.

Quartzforms Pier is part of the Breeze collection — evoking the weathered concrete and timber of seaside structures. The surface presents a uniform mid-tone warm brown-grey base with sparse fine thread-like veins in very light grey or off-white meandering randomly with subtle movement. The matte or honed finish has a subtle fine granular texture evenly distributed throughout the base. The character is subtle and understated — a quiet concrete or natural stone-like aesthetic.

Pier brings the darkest tone to the Breeze collection — where Blanc, Sand, and Pearl operate in the light range, Pier moves into mid-tone territory with a warm brown-grey that recalls weathered harbour concrete. The sparse lighter veining adds just enough organic movement to prevent the surface from reading as a flat solid, but the visual effect is so gentle that Pier functions primarily as a textured neutral. The fine granular texture adds the material substance that concrete surfaces possess — honest, substantial, and grounded.

In2Stone recommends Pier for industrial, coastal, and understated contemporary kitchens where raw material quality is valued. The warm brown-grey pairs naturally with timber, exposed steel, and natural stone. It creates kitchen atmospheres that feel sturdy and established rather than pristine and new. Hardware in matt black provides clean integration; brushed nickel adds cool contrast. Pier is the worktop for kitchens built to last.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Pier

Does Pier look like concrete?
The mid-tone warm brown-grey base, fine granular texture, and matte finish create a convincing concrete-like impression. The sparse lighter veining adds organic character without undermining the industrial aesthetic. It captures concrete's honest material quality with quartz's practical performance.
How does Pier compare to Cloudy Portland Grey?
Both have concrete-like qualities. Portland Grey is a cooler true mid-grey — more neutral. Pier is a warmer brown-grey with sparse veining — warmer and slightly more active. Portland Grey is the cooler, more industrial choice; Pier is warmer and more coastal.
Is Pier too dark for a small kitchen?
Pier is mid-tone rather than dark — significantly lighter than surfaces like Cloudy Black or Night Black. In small kitchens with white or light cabinetry, mid-tone worktops provide grounding warmth without heaviness. The warm brown-grey actually makes compact kitchens feel cosy and considered.
What is the coastal connection?
The name evokes seaside piers — structures where concrete, timber, and steel meet water. The warm brown-grey with weathered texture captures this aesthetic. Pier works beautifully in coastal kitchen designs alongside driftwood, natural linen, and ocean-inspired accents.
How practical is the matte finish?
Very practical — matte finishes hide fingerprints, water spots, and minor marks effectively. The warm brown-grey colour further camouflages everyday kitchen debris. Pier is one of the most maintenance-friendly surfaces in the Breeze collection.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
