The Stone

See the natural beauty of QF Dark Grey up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

Dark Grey Grey Brown

Style:

Speckled Plain Matte

Dark warm brown-grey quartz with fine multicoloured speckling and a matte finish from the QF collection.

Quartzforms QF Dark Grey is part of the QF collection — the darkest grey in the practical core range. The surface presents a uniform dark warm brown-grey base resembling a deep charcoal with distinct brown undertones. There is no veining or prominent pattern — instead, dense fine granular speckling of minute particles in dark grey, black, and occasional pinpoint lighter flecks is randomly distributed across the entire slab. The matte or honed finish has a smooth non-reflective quality. The character is subtle, understated, and solid with consistent finely granular texture.

QF Dark Grey shares the warm brown undertones seen in Baroque and Pier but applies them at a darker depth. The brown undertones are significant — they prevent the dark grey from feeling cold or industrial, creating instead a dark surface with genuine warmth. The multicoloured speckling in dark grey, black, and lighter pinpoints adds textural complexity at the micro level, and the matte finish is essential for practical daily use at this depth of colour.

In2Stone recommends QF Dark Grey for clients who want a practical dark worktop with warm character. The brown undertones make it warmer than pure charcoal alternatives. White or cream cabinetry provides clean contrast; dark timber creates a warm tonal scheme. The matte finish and dense speckling make it significantly more maintenance-friendly than polished dark surfaces.

Frequently Asked

Questions About QF Dark Grey

Is QF Dark Grey warm or cool?
Warm — distinct brown undertones give the dark charcoal base genuine warmth. It reads as a dark brown-grey rather than a cool pure charcoal. This warmth makes it more inviting than cool dark alternatives.
How does QF Dark Grey compare to Cloudy Black?
Cloudy Black is deeper — approaching true black with subtle charcoal flecks. QF Dark Grey is a step lighter with warmer brown undertones and multicoloured speckling. QF Dark Grey is warmer and slightly less dark; Cloudy Black is cooler and darker.
Are the lighter flecks visible?
As pinpoint highlights within the dense dark speckling — occasional lighter flecks punctuate the predominantly dark texture. They are subtle but add moments of contrast that break up the overall darkness and help camouflage everyday marks.
Is the matte finish essential for dark surfaces?
Strongly recommended — matte finishes on dark surfaces hide fingerprints, water spots, and dust far more effectively than polished finishes. QF Dark Grey's matte finish makes daily maintenance significantly easier than polished dark alternatives.
What is the warmest dark grey in the range?
QF Dark Grey is one of the warmest dark surfaces due to its distinct brown undertones. Baroque is similar in warmth but has subtle veining. For warm dark surfaces without veining, QF Dark Grey is the practical core-range choice.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
