The Stone

See the natural beauty of Sughero up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

White Brown Cream

Pale warm off-white quartz with rich brown-grey diagonal veining and organic web-like texture from the Forest collection.

Quartzforms Sughero is part of the Forest collection — a range inspired by the textures and tones of woodland environments. Sughero — Italian for 'cork' — presents a pale warm off-white base with prominent medium-thickness veins running diagonally in warm brown-grey tones that occasionally lean towards reddish-brown. Finer thread-like veins form a dense organic web-like pattern in lighter warm grey and pale taupe, creating a diffused cloud-like texture beneath the primary veining. The polished or honed finish has a subtle sheen, and the overall character balances distinct movement with an understated yet rich warm palette.

Sughero occupies a unique position in the Forest collection — its warm brown-grey veining against the off-white base creates an effect that genuinely evokes the organic warmth of natural cork bark viewed in cross-section. The layered vein structure is particularly effective: the bolder brown-grey veins provide clear directional movement, while the finer web underneath adds atmospheric depth that prevents the surface from feeling flat or graphic. The occasional reddish-brown tones in the veining add a warmth that pure grey alternatives cannot match.

In2Stone recommends Sughero for clients who want a warm marble-effect with genuine organic character. The brown-grey palette pairs naturally with timber cabinetry in oak, walnut, or ash, and complements hardware in brushed bronze, antique brass, or matt black. It creates kitchen atmospheres that feel warm, grounded, and connected to natural materials.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Sughero

What does Sughero mean?
Sughero is Italian for 'cork' — the name references the warm, organic character of the surface. The brown-grey veining against the pale base evokes the natural patterns found in cork bark and woodland materials, connecting the surface to the Forest collection's nature-inspired theme.
What is the Forest collection?
The Forest collection is a Quartzforms range inspired by woodland environments. Each product takes its name from Italian words connected to nature — Sughero (cork), Betulla (birch), Magnolia, and Garrigue (Mediterranean scrubland). The designs reflect the organic textures and colour palettes found in natural landscapes.
Is the veining warm or cool toned?
Warm — the primary veins are brown-grey with occasional reddish-brown tones, and the finer background veining is warm grey and pale taupe. This creates a distinctly warmer marble-effect than the cool grey veining found in Carrara-style designs. Sughero feels organic and earthy rather than crisp and cool.
What cabinetry colours suit Sughero?
Natural timber in oak, walnut, or ash creates a cohesive warm scheme. White and cream cabinetry provides bright contrast while maintaining warmth. The brown-grey veining also works with sage green or muted olive cabinetry for a nature-inspired kitchen. Avoid very cool greys that might clash with the warm tones.
How does the layered veining work?
Sughero has two layers of veining — prominent brown-grey diagonal veins provide clear movement, while a finer web of lighter warm grey creates atmospheric depth beneath. This layered approach gives the surface genuine visual complexity that single-layer veining cannot achieve.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
