The Stone

See the natural beauty of Tempel up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

White Grey Brown

Bright white quartz with graphic dual-coloured charcoal and terracotta veining in a matte finish from the Planet collection.

Quartzforms Tempel is part of the Planet collection — named for the 19th-century comet and delivering a surface with graphic precision. The surface presents a bright white base with a clean unblemished appearance. Sparse veining of fine to medium thickness runs predominantly diagonally with some intersecting horizontal lines creating a distinct yet random pattern. The veins are sharply defined in two colours — dark charcoal grey and warm rusty terracotta — both with slightly jagged irregular edges suggesting natural texture. The matte or honed finish has no high-gloss reflection or speckling. The character is modern and understated with subtle graphic definition from the dual-coloured veining.

Tempel shares the dual-tone veining approach of Honey Galaxy but executes it with much more restraint and precision. The veining is sparse rather than moderate, the edges are jagged rather than flowing, and the matte finish replaces polished reflectivity with a contemporary flatness. The result feels closer to architectural drawing than natural stone — graphic, intentional, and quietly confident. The terracotta vein tone is warm and earthy, grounding the otherwise cool minimalism of the white base and charcoal veining.

In2Stone recommends Tempel for clients who appreciate architectural precision and modern design. The sparse graphic veining suits minimalist contemporary kitchens where every element earns its place. White and pale grey cabinetry maintains the clean aesthetic; natural timber provides warmth that echoes the terracotta vein tone. Hardware in matt black reinforces the graphic quality; brushed brass bridges the warm and cool elements.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Tempel

What makes Tempel's veining graphic?
The veins are sharply defined with jagged irregular edges, appearing in precise charcoal grey and terracotta on the bright white base. The sparse distribution and intersecting diagonal-horizontal lines create a pattern that feels architectural rather than organic — more like a geological diagram than a natural stone formation.
How does Tempel compare to Honey Galaxy?
Both have dual-tone veining combining warm and cool colours on white bases. Honey Galaxy has moderate flowing veining with a polished finish — softer and more traditional. Tempel has sparse sharply defined veining with a matte finish — more graphic and contemporary. Tempel is the more modern choice.
Is the terracotta vein colour very visible?
The terracotta veins are visible but sparse — they provide warm accents alongside the charcoal veining rather than dominating the surface. From distance, the overall impression is of a clean white surface with subtle dual-coloured markings. The terracotta becomes more distinct on close inspection.
Why a matte finish rather than polished?
The matte finish enhances Tempel's modern graphic character by eliminating surface reflections that would soften the veining's sharp definition. It also provides practical benefits — fewer visible fingerprints, water spots, and smudges. The matte quality gives the surface a contemporary edge.
What is Tempel named after?
Ernst Wilhelm Tempel was a 19th-century astronomer who discovered several comets, including the periodic comet 9P/Tempel. The name connects to the Planet collection's celestial theme while reflecting the surface's precise, observational quality.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
