The Stone

See the natural beauty of Belgian Blue up close — the surface texture, colour depth, and veining that make this quartz unique.

Colour:

Charcoal Grey

Deep charcoal quartz with fine light grey speckling — an elegant, finely grained dark stone surface.

Unistone Belgian Blue captures the refined, understated character of its namesake stone. Its uniform deep charcoal grey base provides a sophisticated dark backdrop for very fine dense speckling of light grey, accompanied by sparse random thread-like lighter markings that create a subtle, almost granular texture. The polished finish softly reflects light, enhancing the delicate pattern. Named after Petit Granit — the famous Belgian Blue limestone used in architecture throughout Europe — Belgian Blue has that same quality of dark, finely grained stone with quiet internal detail. It's for kitchens that want darkness with texture rather than drama. Manufactured by Brachot with Through Tone Technology. Over 90% natural quartz, NSF certified. 15-year warranty. Available in standard and jumbo slab formats. Supplied and installed by In2Stone across Hampshire.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Belgian Blue

What does Unistone Belgian Blue look like?
Belgian Blue has a uniform deep charcoal grey base with very fine dense light grey speckling and sparse thread-like lighter markings. The polished finish softly reflects light. It reads as an elegant, finely grained dark stone — quiet internal detail against a deep, sophisticated dark background. Darker than most speckled designs.
What is Belgian Blue stone?
Belgian Blue (Petit Granit) is a famous blue-grey limestone quarried in Belgium since the Middle Ages. Despite its name, it's actually a dark grey limestone with fine fossil inclusions. It's widely used in European architecture. Unistone captures its finely grained character while providing the practical benefits of engineered quartz.
How does Belgian Blue compare to Grigio?
Both are dark grey surfaces, but they differ in texture. Grigio is a solid, completely plain charcoal with no pattern or texture — absolute minimalism. Belgian Blue has fine speckling and thread-like markings on a deep charcoal base — subtle detail within the darkness. Grigio is blank; Belgian Blue has quiet internal life.
Does the fine speckling help with marks?
Yes — the fine light grey speckling breaks up the dark background enough to camouflage dust, light-coloured marks, and water spots better than a plain solid black or charcoal. While dark surfaces always show some marks, Belgian Blue's subtle texture makes daily maintenance noticeably easier than a flat dark surface.
Why is it called Belgian Blue when it looks grey?
The name references Petit Granit (Belgian Blue) limestone, which despite its name appears dark grey rather than blue. In certain lighting conditions, the deep charcoal of both the natural stone and the quartz can reveal very subtle blue-grey undertones. The name is about heritage and provenance rather than literal colour.
★★★★★
"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
