Black Gold Copper

Rivers of molten amber-gold surge through a jet-black canvas — volcanic drama from Brazil's Fusion quarries.

Black Fusion quartzite is nature's most dramatic expression of contrast. Quarried in Brazil and also known as Fusion Black or simply Fusion Quartzite, this magnificent stone features a deep, glossy black base through which bold, sweeping rivers of warm amber-gold and copper flow in powerful, horizontal wave-like formations. The effect is volcanic, opulent, and utterly mesmerising — like watching molten gold stream through obsidian. Despite its exotic appearance, Black Fusion is composed of mainly tightly packed quartz with very low porosity, delivering exceptional stain resistance and durability when sealed. At Mohs 7, it handles kitchen heat, scratches, and acidic spills without flinching. Some slabs may show traces of green or yellow alongside the dominant gold, and occasional softer spots containing calcium carbonate are a natural characteristic of this particular formation. At In2stone, Black Fusion is one of those stones that genuinely takes our breath away. Every slab tells a different story, and our stonemasons take immense pride in positioning each piece to maximise the flow of those magnificent golden rivers across your kitchen island or worktop — creating a centrepiece that's not just functional, but genuinely breathtaking.

Frequently Asked

Questions About Black Fusion

What makes Black Fusion quartzite so visually dramatic?
Black Fusion features a deep, glossy jet-black base with bold rivers of warm amber-gold and copper flowing in powerful horizontal wave formations. The extraordinary contrast creates a volcanic, almost molten quality that's impossible to replicate in engineered materials. Every slab has a unique pattern of golden movement.
What kitchen design works best with Black Fusion quartzite?
Black Fusion makes a breathtaking statement in luxury contemporary, art deco, and dramatic modern kitchens. It pairs magnificently with crisp white cabinetry for maximum contrast, or with dark timber and brass accents for an opulent, immersive scheme. It's particularly stunning as a large kitchen island where the flowing gold veining can be fully appreciated.
Is Black Fusion quartzite genuinely practical for a kitchen?
Yes. Despite its exotic appearance, Black Fusion is composed of tightly packed quartz with very low porosity. At Mohs 7 hardness, it resists scratches, heat from hot pans, and acidic kitchen spills. When properly sealed, it's exceptionally stain-resistant and easy to maintain with daily soap-and-water cleaning.
Where does Black Fusion quartzite come from?
Black Fusion is quarried in Brazil — the world's premier source for exotic quartzite. Also known as Fusion Black or simply Fusion Quartzite, it comes from geological formations where intense metamorphic processes created the distinctive contrast between the jet-black quartz matrix and the warm metallic mineral veining.
Does black quartzite show fingerprints and water marks?
On a polished finish, yes — dark stone can show water marks and fingerprints more visibly than lighter colours. However, this is easily managed with daily wiping and annual sealing. Alternatively, a leathered or honed finish significantly reduces visible marks while maintaining the stone's dramatic black-and-gold character.

"Excellent Service and Beautiful Results - Highly Recommended! I recently had In2stone install new quartz worktops in my kitchen, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, the experience was completely stress-free. The team was not only competitively priced but also incredibly friendly and professional throughout the entire process. They handled everything seamlessly - removing the existing sink, hob, and old laminate worktops before fitting the new quartz surfaces. The finished worktops are absolutely beautiful and have transformed my kitchen into a modern, minimalist space that I love spending time in. The quality of workmanship is outstanding, and the attention to detail really shows. I'm a very satisfied customer and would highly recommend In2stone to anyone considering new worktops. Well done to the entire team - you've exceeded my expectations!"
